Sometimes, when you hear a band, you can have a clear idea from what country the band came from, due some regional particularities that bands input on their work. So at the very same moment you Ol' Daddy here listened to STIGMHATE, the glorious name of Italy came to the mind at the same instant. And yes, the quartet comes from Vicenza, they really do a wonderful work on their newest album, "Zodacare Od Zodameranu", their fourth release.

The music can be described as Italian Black Metal, for they're in the same vein from names as MALFEITOR, HANDFUL OF HATE, NEFARIUM and other great names from Italy Black Metal scene. It means that they're fast, heavy and extremely furious, but the musical arrangements make the difference between them and other bands, using some diversity on vocals and guitars, as well as their rhythmic basis is fantastic.

In terms of quality, the sound production did a very fine job, being clear, heavy and harsh on the same way, guarantying your fully comprehension of what they're playing, and what they're doing, a fine job from Giuseppe Orlando (the one who did the mixing and mastering of the album). The artwork and cover were done by the Brazilian designer Marcelo Vasco (the same one that made works for DIMMU BORGIR, BORKNAGAR and many others).

The finest moments: the fast and strong "The Third Obsidian" (wow, what great guitar work, from harsh riffs to clean moments), the brutal "Ave Averno In Genesi Nema" (again fine works on guitars, but the vocals shows great diversity of tunes), the excellent "Pleroma Apocrifa Mistica" (great tempos changes, what makes the drums and bass works appear greatly), the aggressive "Radiant Darkness" (again the drums are fine, along with the great vocals in lower tunes), and the impressive "Feralis Exercitus". And of course for those who wishes for something more, there's a fine bonus track, "Abraxas".

All hail Italian Black Metal, a new pole for the style. And buy it, dear nephews and nieces!
