Since your Big Daddy here came to know Black Metal, back on 1984, of course I witnessed its decadence back on 1987 (when Thrash Metal began to overcome other Metal styles), the underground times between 1987 and 1993, until it came back to evidence on 1993 (due Euronymous' death on the hands of Varg Vikernes), and since then, they're still here, sometimes going further into the future, and sometimes getting back to its roots. And the Spanish band EMPTY is a good name, coming again with their new album, "Etica Profanatica Negativa".

If you're looking for a band more focused on SWOBM roots, you found it on their work, for they're on the same vein from old bands like BURZUM and MAYHEM, working on a more morbid, depressive and darkened music instead of a brutal grasp. And it's very good, besides nothing extremely new.

"Etica Profanatica Negativa" was recorded, mixed and mastered by Javi Félez, so we can say that he got the album's idea clearly, creating the sound atmosphere necessary for EMPTY do their work. Morbid and dense, but with some quality.

The band prefers to work with long songs, and the best ones are: "Terrifying Lucidity of the Wakefulness" (a mid tempo, with good high pitch vocals, and morbid riffs), the slow funeral called "The Funeral Song be Sung", "Born Under the Sign of a Moribund Star" (what good drums we can hear here), and the harsh and more traditional in terms of Black Metal "The Tree of Dying Fruit".

They still have a way to go, but are on the right track.
