Nothing But The Whole
Emptiness

The empty depths of Brussels created a powerful force that gives us somber yet powerful music; this force are the appropriately named EMPTINESS and they have brought forward their fourth studio album with misery and despair. In this case that is a compliment.
Opening track 'Go and Hope' entices the listener in with great intensity and dark supremacy; you feel like you are trapped under this curse where you feel as if you have to listen to the rest. That is usually the intentions of an opening track which EMPTINESS pulls off so well.
As the album progress, the more severe and shadowy it becomes. Like I have stated in the opening paragraph these are compliments in this case; as it goes on I am hearing such tracks 'Behind The Curtain' and 'Tale Of A Burning Man' serve up intensity on a silver platter with aggressive vocals with solemn instrumental arrangements. The kind of things you will expect to hear from a Black Metal band but they intensify that by at least ten times then what the Black Metal community are used to.
Concluding at 'Lowlands' EMPTINESS achieves pure dismay and sadness with their fourth installment. In other words a fourth studio masterpiece that the Brussels Black Metal four piece should beam with pride over.
