Heartworm
Dementia Senex
It's strange sometimes to hear bands with experimentalism inside extreme Metal limits. No, it's not forbidden, I didn't mean that, but it's a little creepy. But as well, the results, when positive, are reasons for hails, as in the case of the Italian quintet DEMENTIA SENEX, that released their EP "Heartworm" (it seems a joke with CARCASS' "Heartwork", but leave this aside).
Very experimental and sounding depressive, the band has strong roots on Death Metal, but you hear a musical work rich in terms of arrangements and accords, but sometimes extremely aggressive and harsh in the middle of that. And the most important: they have a strong musical personality, no doubt about this.
The sound production is fine, but could be a little better (in terms of guitar sounding, I mean), we can hear the band's work well, and of course, it is very good.
The three songs, "Unscented Walls", "Kairos" (the shortest one, with less than 3 minutes), and "Heartworm" are very fine and got a lot of to say to every Metallian about how to do brutal music with experimental approach, and having no fear of going against trends or models.
Listen to it, and I believe that you are going to like this one.
