Sinbreed - Shadows album cover

SINBREED's fierce determination and great epic songwriting was a key factor for the triumphal success that goes along with the band first release in 2010: "When Worlds Collide", this obvious fact coupled with their untamed spirit and positive attitude lead us again to the new fantastic output by this Christian Power Metal band famous for having members from BLIND GUARDIAN in its rank, but the real asset of those Metal pilgrims, leaded by Flo Laurins is clearly Mr. Herbie Langhans (BEYOND THE BRIDGE / ex-SEVENTH AVENUE), an immensely talented vocalist that holds proudly a characteristic power, a divine voice gift somewhere between RUSSELL ALLEN (SYMPHONY X / ADRENALINE MOB) / Jorn Lande (JORN / ex-MASTERPLAN / ex-ARK) and Mark Tornillo (ACCEPT / ex-TT QUICK) enhanced with a typical soaring range, an high pitch method like Andy Deris (HELLOWEEN / ex-PINK CREAM 69) but also a rarely seen aggressively in this style expect with singers like Swedish Jens Carlsson (PERSUADER / ex-SAVAGE CIRCUS / ex-DARK EMPIRE) or BLIND GUADIAN's Hansi Kursch (DEMONS AND WIZARDS). The pace is in the fast side of the Germanic Metal mania of the early 90's, with an exciting capacity in Tipton / Downing riffage and classical NWOBHM dual harmony axology, a bold rhythmic tightness, with an absolute solidity, an attractive efficiency and a damn addictive method in Headbangin' mania.

The atmosphere is thick and dark, no trace of Happy Metal here, no Heroic fantasy neither, the lyrical thematic is smart and philosophic, bloody serious and finally much smarter than your everyday GAMMA RAY / RIOT secular clone! The wisdom content and the gospel attitude is quite discreet, so no obvious religious proselytism and no annoying heavy preaching message for this flawless sounding disc and no ballad at all...That's another good specificity to add the band's credit ! Only slow moment with the intro for the cut "Broken Wings" which is another dangerous piece of sharp riffing that reminds me a little bit the excellent Metal Squad SCELERATA from Brazil... Spectacular! The melodies are never in the cheesy fashion and are quite catchy, along with the title track or "London Moon" is one of the most exemplary number to notice here, as all the elements are present in a perfect balance of proportion but each song is a winner, all killers no filler.

Another great release by SINBREED, a furious Power Metal band with a spiritual conscience and a never questioned focus on quality Music under the guidance of the holy forces.
