Anomalie - Between The Light album cover

Well, all of us know the one man bands, projects from people who want to do things by themselves, or for those who want to do some kind of music that only this person alone could conceive and play. And another good name coming is ANOMALIE, from Austria, that comes with "Between The Light", he's first album.

The style is what some calls Post Black Metal (still, my hairy balls ache with these subgenres... All is Metal, and that's all), having harsh voices, dry and strong guitar riffs, bass and drums in a good basis, and the band's style is a fusion between the extreme aspects of Black Metal with some depressive and mournful musical atmospheres. It's nothing new, but very good.

Having the help from Matthias Sollak (lead guitars on "Blinded Not like Others"), Lukas (vocals on "Oxymora") and J.J. (vocals on "Tales of a Dead City"), supported by a raw and somewhat dirty sound production (the very same from good Black Metal albums), it's good to the point you can hear the work, feel what it's about and listen the instruments in a good level.

Six tracks, with one a version for NINE INCH NAILS's song "Hurt" (the shortest one, for all tracks lasts more than 6 minutes!), the album is in a good level, with some introspective aspects and all in the place, having on "Blinded Not like Others" and "Tales of a Dead City" (the female vocals are charming), for sure we can expect a good future for the band.

Hope that Marrok will return soon, but until them, buy it. Illegal downloads area a pain in the ass, and don't help the band.
