Drift
Jenx
Chaos made music is what Industrial is about. Bands from this style (boring concepts again... Can someone really forget these labels once and for all?) have only two ways to follow: they do something more commercial and accessible in terms of music (like we see in RAMMSTEIN and OOMPH), or something heavier and more chaotic, the soundtrack for apocalypse (like MINISTRY and MNEMIC). And the French quintet JENX is really in a middle way (but trying to keep in a more melodic way) with "Drift", their new album.
Sometimes more heavier and chaotic, sometimes more robotic, "Drift" seems to be a very experimental album, as the band was testing itself, looking for their own way to go, but it does not mean that the album is not good. But it's not the eighty wonder in the world.
A good and modern sound production made the band sound in a clean and soft direction, even on more accessible and clean moments, but when the band plays the game in a more aggressive fashion, the band got good results in terms of sound.
The best moments: the long and experimental "Inner View" (with some more chaotic and aggressive moments), the electronic chaos of "The Loss", and "Chains of Labour". It's good, but not all Metalheads will like the album.
Good with good taste, but needs to improve into a more Metal form.
