CLOUDS BY NIGHT is a Gothic Rock band from Athens in Greece formed in 2004. They released "Waves of Emptiness" in the summer of 2005, a four track demo / promo in 2008. Their debut album "Just Buried" was released.

"Boundless" opens the album with fresh energetic rhythms, stronger riffs and growling vocals alongside a beautiful female voice. Melodic track & fine guitar solo. Rocking riffs with amazing keyboards within "Luciferian" is so excessive with an operatic signature and melodic sounds of that reminded me of NIGHTWISH. Actually the keyboards also had me picking my brains finding out MANOWAR, with a presentation of the special intros and hymns. "Dreaming" resembled in its vocals performance a bit of the bestiality of CREMATORY along with an angelic caressing voice, fine classic orchestration. "New Dawn" has a terrific atmosphere, great guitars, crossing borders with a Celtic like feel, check out the flute. Worth to listen are also: "Disobey" with heavier riffs, kind of a Gothic Rock elements, symphonic choir, melody and a dark climate, "Suicidal" with soother piano and soft singing, electronic and morbid, the melodic "Demon Calling" with a nice keyboards that had me going for SISTERS OF MERCY along with being Gothic towards Rock, fantastic keys in "Way To Nothing" with symphonic elements, quite melancholic and finally the amazing vocal duet on "Empty Shell".

CLOUDS BY NIGHT has a big potential to become something greater with catchy melodies, dark ambience and beautiful female voice mixing with a hoarse vocalist. Combined together, this lineup asserts fair uniqueness and modern sound to this band. They could be recognized on music market quite easily.
