Tales Of Avalon: The Lament
Dark Avenger
And they get back to Metal front, the Brazilian titans called DARK AVENGER, and with a new album, "Tales of Avalon: The Lament", after a hiatus of 8 years. And seems like time didn't affect them in nothing. Like wine, they're the best form ever seen.
They keep in the same musical style as before: that elegant and thunderous Heavy Metal, with great vocals, going from aggressive and harsh to clean and high tunes (maybe Mário Linhares is the best Brazilian singer in this way), a marvelous guitar work (both in heavy riffs and melodic solos), bass and drums making a heavy and well worked rhythmic basis. And gluing all this, we have a perfect album, a truly masterpiece.
Record at Studio Rossom Records, in Brasília, having Tito Falaschi and R. Schumann in sound production, and with mixing and mastering done by Michael Wagener (que já trabalhou com OZZY OSBOURNE, METALLICA, SKID ROW, MEGADETH, DOKKEN, and others) in WireWorld Studio, Nashville, Tennessee (USA). Obviously, there was no way for a fine musical work like this to have an artwork that couldn't reflect what their lyrical work is about. And they really deserve a special mention, for they're not about dragons, swords, elves, but about our inner feelings.
The highlights: "From Father to Son" (wonderful and grand song, with Mário doing a fine work on vocals), the faster one "Doomsday Night", the elegant "The Knight on the Hill" (where guitars give a show for themselves), the beautiful "Can You Fell It?" (another one with great guitar work, and the best interpretation from Mário), and "The Thousand Ones" (with bass and drums showing their technique).
Classic, and please, guys: never go away again!
