Mounting The World

Back in the end of the 70's the NWOBHM started to rise up with bands such as IRON MAIDEN, DIAMOND HEAD, SAXON, ANGEL WITCH, DEF LEPPARD and many more. Although that is has been over 30 since that movement was the center of attention, it left behind a considerable remark and even today satisfies the thirst for that musical direction.
The German due of STALLION have been trying to restore the golden years of British Metal, and I must say it isn't easy to try and reestablish such a huge genre that brought the world some of the greatest bands ever formed. With their professionalism and their "Stick Your Guns" attitude, STALLION rehashed the feeling of those wonderful years. You might observe it on "Give It To Me" that closely reminded me a lot of JUDAS PRIEST meets ANGEL WITCH with a splash of Teutonic ACCEPT. The opening guitar riff, so tight, delivers Heavy Metal through your veins. I can definitely say that this is my favorite song, especially when it began to develop in its middle, a buildup that seemed of an IRON MAIDEN origin. It is funny, but you will feel as if the singer storms out of your speakers with his high notes.
"The Right One" is a Speed Metal track that shows that the band can take the songs to a new limit or beyond the speed of light. Practically, there is a sense of diversity, to manifest something different and escape banality. "Shadow Run" has an evil creepy direction with the riffs and its demonic speed onslaught. I can definitely perceive the high quality playing, reminded me "Kill 'Em All" by METALLICA. "Heavy Metal Rock" sounds like an anthem, a great track that will make any audience sing along and cooperate with the band, also it bears a Glamish aptitude. "Killing Time" is sure to serve it purpose while I felt the right atmospheric discharge when I listened to "Denim and Leather".
The EP contains only 6 songs but each one of them is a pure diamond that will take you back to Metal's years of worth. I thank STALLION for their blessed musical talent and their challenge for NWOBHM to reappear. Possibly the only cause for annoyance was the production values, which didn't seem as important to this duo, yet the only way is up.
