Ignition
Crowdburn
There are days in our life that some releases really can surprises us all, and "Igniton", an album from Swedish quintet CROWDBURN, is really one of them, without any doubt.
The band's style is a hybrid between Thrash and Death Metal, but unlike greater part of the other ones, we can feel the Groove touches coming into our ears clearly, and this fact makes their sound powerful enough to deserve a careful listening, as well as strong and fine melodies are there, giving body to a music that really doesn't sound new, but very, very good. And be sure: they are aggressive to the core, so, it's better to have your family out of the house when listening.
All of us all can hear a fine sound production done, for both aggressive and melodic aspects of their music are in evidence, and their music sound as clean as heavy with no doubt about what their work is up to (probably, to deaf us all), with harsh vocals (with some high pitch tones) contrasting with clean ones, very aggressive guitar riffs (but full of melodic contrasts and generous Groove doses), bass and drums working together to build up a rhythm mass heavy and dense, but with good in technical aspects. As told before: their work does not sound as something new, but this doesn't mean it's not very good.
The artwork is simple, but the message is very clear for all to see (no, I'm not kidding this time).
Their music has energy at a very high level, made to shake walls and break necks, so better beware, especially in highlights as the technical (and brutal all the way) "Stars" (see the fine guitar works. Sweden really gives birth to good 6-strings axe men), the thundering and more thrashing "Alligator" (with drums in a very good form), the mid-melodic and mid-brutal "Burning Crowd" (bass guitar and vocals makes us all got bumps), and the more introspective "Spiders Nest" (the melodic moments seems like North-American Country music in some moments, reflecting the versatility of the vocals).
It's a good band, and going this way, these guys for sure can become a greater name.
