Territorio Perdido
Brutal Exuberancia
When I talk about Amazonian region in Brazil, a lot of people think about the Rain Forest, nude female warriors hidden in the jungles, Indians and ancient lost cultures, but there is also the Metal scene to talk about as well, with some good names, and one more coming from Manaus is BRUTAL EXUBERÂNCIA, who comes with their first CD, "Território Perdido" (what means "Lost Territory" in English).
A brutal and harsh Thrash Metal quartet, with some Hardcore and Crossover touches here and there, in an avalanche of raw grunts (sometimes reminding João Gordo, from RATOS DE PORÃO), excellent guitars (both in riffs and solos), bass and drums forming a heavy and well worked unity, so, beware with their ferocity in music, for it really can damage your neck.
Produced by Eddie Souza (from E.S.P Studio in Manaus) and the band, the sound is raw and lacks of weight sometimes, but it's too clear to hear all the instruments in their places with no trouble at all. And we can say that here in Brazil is very hard (and expensive as well) to record and release a CD, so, let's focus ourselves in their music. The art and cover are well worked, with no extravagance, reflecting the brutality of their music.
All the tracks are too fine, but their great moments are in the songs "Apocalipto" (brutal, and with good variations in tempos), the short and almost Grindcore "Alcoholic Domination", "Território Perdido" (see the good work of bass guitar and drums), the homage to Metal in "Metal, Essa é a Minha Vida" (with a good chorus and blasting guitar riffs), the fist in our ears called "Zona Leste Town", and the great "Futuro Incerto" (with more slow tempos, showing good vocals and guitar solos).
A very good CD and we hope to hear some more of their work in a near future, and potential to conquer other countries they have.
