Exeloume - Return Of The Nephilim album cover

The rejoinder of the giants from outer space, the body snatching monstrosities of Thrash Metal, the call from the Northern coldness, yet with a hellish cry, the return of the EXELOUME mutated perverts. Last time I tuned to these guys was on their debut, "Fairytale Of Perversion", were I was amazed by their sense towards progressing Thrash, with qualities of Death Metal, into an intriguing musical spectacle. With their new EP, "Return Of The Nephilim", continuously via ViciSolum Productions, EXELOUME re-emerged their same assorted perspective, with a developed type Thrash, highly energetic and prolific. As I stated two years ago, nothing with EXELOUME is ordinary or common like the vast Thrash acts, they have that knack to draw out their wild cards pretty fast.

Nonetheless, I guess that it can be regarded as a matter of luck, as "Return Of The Nephilim" fell a bit short in comparison to the full length release. On the other hand, EXELOUME were able muster four tracks showing off their abilities and their creativeness, the EXODUS / SLAYER aroused track "Return Of The Nephilim", closing the short sheet of songs, seemed as the weakest link, somewhat tedious even with synth layout, providing a sting of ingenuity, yet rather tiresome up until its last two minutes where great melodies start to kick in. However, "Son Of Euphrates", in contrast, is solid gold, a true multifaceted track to get back to, feels and reeks of DEATH rather than Thrash, sharing several kinds of instruments, producing impressive lead guitar licks, a bit short but still enticing, varied rhythm guitar riffing and one hell of a kick ass drumming. It would appear that is where EXELOUME is headed, leaving Thrash behind and submerging into a developed form of Death Metal with shards of melody. "Carrie" and "Devoured" seemed rather compact, ranged behind the former; yet deliver the same sensation of the high quality avowal of EXELOUME musicianship abilities. In the end, it is an EP to check out if you are looking for something out of the ordinary.
