The Fourth And Final Horseman

This is an album that I would describe as old school Power Metal. LONEWOLF, the veteran French Metallers, have been around for quite a long time and this is their 6th full-length studio album. As you might have already guessed, heroic, fantasy and battle / war themes are dominating the lyrical concept, and the sound is somewhat your typical epic MANOWAR.
The image of the band as well gives you that impression, with the very tough, Metal and manly looks of the members. The material is so raw and heavy. The vocals of Jens Börner are quite raspy, unique and powerful, creating a choral effect with multi-layered backing vocals from both the lead guitarist and the bassist, respectively Alex Hilbert and Rikki Mannhard. Along with very cheerful Power Metal riffery, the result is catchy and sing-along songs. The most special tracks for me were "Time of War" and "Dragonriders" as well as "Brotherhoods of The Wolves", the latter being probably based on the famous French movie of the same name, one that I truly admire.
Well, to conclude, if you're not really into Power Metal, this album may not be exactly your cup of tea. Otherwise, enjoy the glory.
