Summoning

J.R.R. Tolkien, my dear brothers, my dear fellow warriors, has been revived with another SUMMONING release once again, but only temporarily of course, since the magic can wear out. SUMMONING, the Symphonic Black Metal band known for teleporting the listener into the middle of a battle in Middle Earth are back with their heavily awaited "Old Mornings Dawn", and this time they're catchier, memorable beyond words can describe, and beyond all valiant and kings among their loyal armies in what they do. Now let be draw my iron blade and proceed with this review.
"Old Mornings Dawn" as an early conclusion, I'll say it's SUMMONING's best album in terms of catchiness and production. The album is far cleaner, and more appealing, heck, you can easily spot the very audible and far improved guitar riffs, you'll be surprised. The album kicks in with an opener, like almost every album by SUMMONING, and shifts to the inspired "Flamiffer", with its guitars, percussion, and overall feel. Did I say percussion on a SUMMONING album? Yes I did ladies and gents! And that's going to be noticeable on several tracks. I avoid track by track reviews; the overall magic of the album is what all you listeners need to know.
Keyboards are extremely well executed like we're used to hearing from SUMMONING, but what distinguishes them from other bands in the same genre is that they can put you in the mood the album aims to deliver. SUMMONING can transform you from a Metalhead to a knight on a battlefield. Keyboards can do a lot of magic for any Tolkien or fantasy and fiction fans here; however, teleportation back to reality is not guaranteed, do tread with caution.
In general, like every other amazing masterpiece this duo has put out, this is a must have. A buy or die release for people who know very well the sorcery Summoning can make come to life. Now excuse me readers, I have a battle with some filthy Orcs to resume.
