ABRIOSIS hail from Canada, and "Vessel" is their second EP, having also released a full length album - "Tattered And Bound" - in 2011. These guys are brutal, and heavy, and they will certainly make an impression on you.

Let's get something straight, if you like your Rock and Metal a little bit tamer, then back away now. ABRIOSIS are anything but tame. From the first second of "Crypsis", they are attempting to blow out your eardrums, with some of the most frantic music I've heard. Unfortunately, in this case, 'frantic' has crossed over somewhat with 'repetitive'. Now, I don't know if it's because it's only an EP, and only four songs, so maybe it doesn't show the best of the band, but I couldn't help shake this feeling of déjà vu that I had with each song. Mind you, repetitiveness is worse when the music itself is bad, at least with this EP, the music's pretty good, and it only lasted 20 minutes, so it didn't get boring. It would have been nice to have a bit more variety though.

This band is still unsigned, which is odd, because they are pretty good. Ness's vocals are extremely brutal and just as heavy and fast as all the instruments backing her up. The drums don't so much gallop as run at the speed of light, and the guitars and bass don't let up from the moment they start to the moment they stop. There's some good musicianship on display here, some good technical ability, but I just feel like it doesn't come together as well as it could do.

For those of you who are already fans of ABRIOSIS, you'll probably enjoy this offering, and if you haven't been introduced to them before, and you like your Death Metal as brutal as it can be, then you should check this out, although their full length album may be a safer bet.
