Limb Service
Nighnacht

Do you remember the cartons of The Tasmanian Devil that were so popular at the time. That is what the voice of NIGHNACHT singer makes me think of, due to his flying from high to low and from almost clean to screaming and grunting. The band is from both Phoenix in Arizona and Cleveland in Ohio in the USA and was founded in 2019. Almost seven years later, on 9 January 2026, it is time for them to finally deliver their debut album "Limb Service". And yes, the clues are in the title of it all, as well as the range of different kind of vocals, as NIGHNACHT brings us a combination of Black and Death Metal. Well, "Limb Service" has been dubbed as a full-length album, but as a whole these ten songs don't even hit the 20 minute mark. So, if you feel this is an EP, feel free to do so.
What I do know is that in the 19:42 minutes that you get to endure this NIGHNACHT onslaught, your senses will be and have to be on high alert. It might not be as outlandish as WURDULAK used to be, but it does remind me of a more Death Metal oriented version of what that band brought us back in the day. And I can't but help like what I am hearing. The band has a knack for sounding tight, intense but above all sincere in their approach. No frills, no sidelines, no breaks, just straight on musical beatings that rain down on your head, into your ears, only to keep on going until it has reached your brain. And if you're not familiar with chaos in your Metal, you might want to protect yourself before immersing yourself into the full "Limb Service" album.
Even though the songs are short and to the point, they do not lack the qualities and traits that you not only expect, but also hope for in a band that is trying to bring Extreme Metal to your doorstep. In that respect "Limb Service" doesn't disappoint for one second. NIGHNACHT knows exactly what they are doing, but they also know that what they bring isn't for a large audience. They are operating in a niche market, but within that area I have a feeling that they will be greeted with open arms and banging heads. They might not conquer the world, but they have already turned one soul into them. Mine. Will yours follow?
