EVIL DAMN hailing from Lima, Peru were formed in 2003. The Death Metal band released one EP and one full-length album so far. The second EP "Eons Of Horror" has a length of about 19 minutes, and it was released via Ohio Black, Death, and Thrash Metal specialists Hells Headbangers Records. The EP starts with a grim and atmospheric pre-lude to the title track. "Eons Of Horror" continues with an extended guitar-driven part at a measured tempo, delivering the main melody of the track. After some time, the track changes pace, introducing the verse part. The guitar riffing is devastating at insane pace. The vocals are growls, which vary around the medium end of the guttural range with little tonal shifts. The choruses maintain the pace of the verse parts. The melodies are grim and have a slight touch of melancholy, in particular during the end of the track, where it all goes back to the initial melody at a measured tempo accompanied by scary screams. "God Of Chaos" keeps going with the Death Metal mayhem by including blast-beat attacks to the punishing guitar riffs. It is a track switching permanently between mid-tempo and crazy pace. There is plenty of backing vocal support, intensifying the aggression level of the track. There is a break with a very contributing lead guitar solo at its heart. The break has a few Thrash Metal vibes. "God Of Chaos" is one of the EP highlights, and a video was uploaded by the label, with the YouTube link provided below.

"Summon Thy Presence" starts frantic with punishing guitar riffs at blistering pace. The verse parts maintain the tempo with very aggressive riffing and vocals, while the choruses slightly slow down. The melodies have a few oriental vibes, in particular during the break with another cool lead guitar solo. There are two solos during the track, a second one closely towards the end of the track. "Summon Thy Presence" includes also a few Thrash Metal vibes. "Evil Dwells Out There" starts with a blast-beat thunderstorm, crushing guitar riffs, and spine-chilling melodies. While the verse parts are fast, the chorus parts lean more towards mid-tempo. The vocals are very aggressive, but one-dimensional without any versatility. The break is the highlight of the track with a delivery of an excellent lead guitar solo. The EP finishes with the fast and short "Guerreros De Satan". It is a track with a few Punk and Hardcore vibes. It is a frantic track from the start to the finish, and the crazy lead guitar solo is second to none. EVIL DAMN deliver an interesting and promising release. "Eons Of Horror" is traditional Death Metal with a few Thrash Metal twists. All tracks are fast and frantic with punishing riffs and very aggressive vocals. Highlights are the lead guitar solos, and they provide the Thrash Metal vibes and an additional layer to the Death Metal sound. The vocals lack some versatility, which is a missed opportunity on one hand, but delivers more rawness on the other hand. The production has some room for improvement. Death Metal fans will like what they hear on "Eons Of Horror" and hope for another full-length album of EVIL DAMN sooner than later.
