FROZEN LAND hailing from Finland were formed in 2017. The Power Metal outfit released their third full-length album. "Icemelter" has a length of more than 36 minutes, and it was released via German label Massacre Records, which has many Death, Power, and Heavy Metal bands among their current roster. The album starts with the fast song "The Carrier". It is a traditional Power Metal track with fast verse parts and tight guitar riffs, accompanied by plenty of double-bass drumming. The bridges switch to short mid-tempo sequences, while the choruses are two-parted: the entry is epic at a measured tempo with catchy melodies, and the second part is played at insane pace. The vocals vary around the medium end of the vocal range. The break is a mid-tempo delivery of a contributing lead guitar solo and a keyboard solo. "The Carrier" is a fantastic track to switch into a Power Metal modus. "Death End" has a short introduction at measured tempo provided by the guitars and it develops then into a mid-tempo verse part with powerful guitar riffs. The choruses are anthemic with catchy melodies. The vocals offer distinct tonal shifts towards highly pitched notes during the second verse. The mid-tempo break is driven by galloping riffs and a cool lead guitar solo.

"Death End" was released as video, and the YouTube link is provided below. "Dream Away" remains in mid-tempo mode with strong basslines and dark melodies during the verse parts. The choruses keep the tempo, while the melodies include a slight touch of melancholy. The break accelerates the tempo during the first part with a lead guitar solo at insane pace, while the second part of the solo returns to mid-tempo. "Chosen, Corrupt And Cancerous" has a fast start with a guitar-driven opening and neo-classical melodies, leading into the fast verse part. The verse parts are driven by the tight guitar riffs and the double-bass. The vocals offer a lot of versatility by incorporating many tonal shifts. The choruses include thunderous riffs at mid-tempo and sing-along choruses. The mid-tempo break delivers another contributing lead guitar solo. "Losing My Mind" slows down a bit during the verse part. The melodies are provided by the guitars and the keyboards, while the vocals offer a lot of higher pitched notes. The choruses include catchy melodies. The break switches the rhythm quite often with the lead guitars being the main contributor. The title track begins with an extended guitar-driven intro, transitioning into a mid-tempo verse part with powerful guitar riffing. The choruses follow catchy melodies and there is plenty of double-bass drumming support. The vocals have some backing vocal support during the verse parts. The break starts very heavy with thunderous guitar riffs, leading into the excellent lead guitar solo.

"Icemelter" is arguably one of the album highlights. "Haunted" starts with tight and direct guitar riffs accompanied by the double-bass and crushing basslines. The verse part is a mixture of double-bass driven fast parts and mid-tempo parts. The choruses have catchy melodies with powerful and tight guitar riffs, and they are anthemic at a measured tempo. The break starts a bit punchier, before transitioning into fast lead guitar solo with a few neo-classical vibes. The album finishes with "Black Domina" and the track starts as a classical Power Metal track. The guitar riffing is tight and the tempo is fast, while the guitar melodies return to the classic modus. The vocals are mainly around the medium end of the vocal range, but they include a few higher pitched notes. The break starts at a measured tempo with thunderous guitar riffs and choir support. Eventually, the break erupts into another contributing lead guitar solo. "Black Domina" is a good way to end the album. FROZEN LAND release a good Power Metal album. "Icemelter" delivers traditional Power Metal with a good mixture of fast and mid-tempo tracks, tight and powerful guitar riffs, catchy and sing-along melodies. The album is well produced. Power Metal fans will surely like the songs on "Icemelter", and look forward to exciting live performances of FROZEN LAND.
