Entanglement

Sun Of the Suns

What I can say that if SUN OF THE SUNS ever come my way, I will be very much inclined to go and see their show. I would like to know whether they are able to emulate live what they have achieved in the studio and put on “Entanglement”.

As I am someone with a very sunny disposition, I figured it would be fitting for a guy like me to review the new SUN OF THE SUNS album "Entanglement". It was released on 12 December 2025 and is filled with over 46 minutes of what the metal Archives calls Progressive Deathcore. Before I say more about the album, let's get more info about the band; SUN OF THE SUNS is from Pesaro, Marche/Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, which is in Italy. They have been making a whole lotta noise since 2017, and as "Entanglement" is their sophomore album, their has to be a debut as well. "TIIT" was released in 2021, and I haven't had the pleasure of listening to this slab of Heavy noise (yet).

Let me start by saying that the first two songs, "Wanderer Of The Cosmos" and "On The Last Day Of Earth" will not put you on the path of Progressive Deathcore at all, as they sound a lot more like pure Melodic Death Metal. And what's more, a bloody good sounding bit of it as well. Only from "Ephemeral, Ethereal, Eternal" do the mainly Deathcore as well as in lesser volumes the Progressive parts make an entrance. And that only gets enhanced when you get further along the album. on top of that I have to mention that whatever you might think of the musical direction that SUN OF THE SUNS is following on "Entanglement", the music on offer is of a very high quality, sounds awfully good. It does help that the grunting and growling vocals by Luca Scarlatti fir perfectly with the heaviness and intensity of the Progressive Deathcore that I'm listening to.

What I can say that if SUN OF THE SUNS ever come my way, I will be very much inclined to go and see their show. I would like to know whether they are able to emulate live what they have achieved in the studio and put on "Entanglement". That is a result hat has come forward from listening to the album several times. I initially thought it was okay, but I found myself enjoying, respecting and admiring their brand of Heavy Music a little bit more with every session. Thau usually implies that this is a diamond in the rough, one that needs time and effort to grow on you. If I'm right, it will mean that "Entanglement" and therefore SUN OF THE SUNS are going to be in my periscope vision for the foreseeable future.
