Chasing Violets - Outside Heaven album cover

CHASING VIOLETS are two talented sisters Sarah and Melissa Fontaine from France. "Outside Heaven" was produced by Frédéric Slama, a rather famous AOR fame. He played with members of TOTO, FM, CHICAGO, DAKOTA and others. The album presents many high quality musicians whom every fan of melodic Rock probably knows very well. It is worth to mention Alessandro Del Vecchio and Göran Edman among the recording crew, yet all musicians put their high quality experience to the test. This album is full of killer tracks. Each of the tracks is a potential hit. Furthermore, this experience is for fans melodic Rock and AOR and also for everyone who loves extremely melodious tunes in the spirit of the 80s.

"I Can't Love No More" is the opening track of this great album generating the 80's comeback. The young sisters sing clearly and their voices sound amazing together. The chorus sticks easily and you can gradually hum its melody. Thin AOR guitars and gentle keyboards are fantastic immediately reminding me the last album of Rob Moratti. On "Hold Back The Dawn" the guitar and bass mingle in the same manner of several of the TOTO examples. The Fontaine sister sound wonderful. Their harmony is no less than perfect, their voices are indistinguishable. "Above Suspicion" is a track where the sisters collaborate beautifully with Göran Edman. Within the song there are spectacular melodies and powerful energies surged right through the listener's mind. The chorale is memorable with a sweet scent of congruence. This is my favorite tune of this album. There is a feeling of FOREIGNER all around. When listening to such tracks your blood is ought to pulsate faster. It's so nice to texture the 80s again.

Another AOR tune is "No Margin For Error" that seemed to be made with utter passion. Without a doubt there is a strong vibes delivered by the guitars played by Mario Percudani of HUNGRY HEART. I could sense the Bluesy influences of WHITESNAKE This song is mainly a honey for the soul, mind and ears. Excellent vocals of the Fontaine sisters featuring with lead vocalist Philip Bardowell. The theme of the song is as expected, about love, in addition to themes about lost passion and jealousy. Hard guitars and stout drumming can be heard on "When The Darkness Falls". Again the 80s sensation hovers like flies reminding me some songs of HEART. On this track there is a perfect guitar solo played by Tommy Denander. The bass is working in the same way as BON JOVI in their best songs of their classic era. The ballad "Voices In The Wind" featuring Dane Donohue and the supplementary calmer melodic track "Cease Fire" are gorgeous as well.

Impulsive and energetic song is "Just Wanna Be Your Heroine". In this very punchy track you will find old good Hard Rock, plenty of power with a lot of melodies. Happily played just like a VAN HALEN old classic. This is another favorite track of mine. The same is "You're My Obsession". The title suggests that this song would be fantastic and yes it is with it being melodious. Pat Thern (drums) and Tommy Denander (guitars) are making the best of their abilities. The intro riff on track "Outisde Heaven", with Paul Sabu on guitars, reminded me the introduction on the "Tease Me Please Me" of the SCORPIONS fame. Once again I enjoyed the vocals of the sisters. Very catchy, almost pop in orientation is "No One's Gonna Hurt Me Anymore". It is evident that the sisters wanted to catch listener's heart alongside the selection of beautiful melodies, gentle played and all of what is beautiful in AOR music. Profound keyboards, softy drumming with pretty well working bass you will find in "A Hole in Paradise". Pulsing rhythm with awesome singing just for fans TOTO, FOREIGNER and H.E.A.T.

I really enjoyed listening to this album and I'm sure also you will dear listeners. While listening to this kind of music I'm in heaven and of course with these talented singer sisters with perfect team of musicians! You can see AOR is their passion and the purpose is to get you addicted. This music surely will share its good mood with you. Musically everything is more than OK as this album is just amazing, the melodic music is pouring out like rain. Production at the highest level. "Outside heaven" by CHASING VIOLETS is lightweight, easy listening and enjoyable.
