Shadows Of The Dying Light
Sarayasign

Sarayasign return with "Shadows Of The Dying Light", their most ambitious release yet—a sweeping, cinematic hard rock journey where orchestral grandeur collides with razor-sharp modern metal. Known for thunderous riffs, immersive atmospheres and emotionally charged storytelling, the band crafts concept albums that span time, space and human experience. Following "Throne Of Gold" (2022) and "The Lion's Road" (2023), this third chapter deepens their mythos while delivering stand-alone impact. Recorded at Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg with Jakob Herrmann (Evergrey, Amaranthe) and mixed/mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Pretty Maids), the album captures Sarayasign at full creative force. Each track is a portal—cinematic, intense and layered—inviting listeners into a world where sound and story are inseparable.
So this is part III of this Cinematic Melodic concept "World Apart (Shadowlands)" has an a great ambience start, with atmospheric keys which lead into a powerful guitar riff melody with strong vocals, the chorus is electric, complete with a great guitar solo, with a thunderous bassline throughout."Watching It Burn Away" is slightly heavier than the opening track with some heavy riff work, the bass again is high in the mix,as the track progresses it builds to an epic soaring chorus, the vocals Stefan delivers are superb. The heavier edge flows through "Shades Of Black" with some prog elements in places, the chorus is again fantastic, with another immense guitar solo. The title track has that cinematic feel with such gorgeous piano & vocals, which kicks into a heavier Melodic piece, the track switches between calm & heavier passages, such an epic track with an equally matched powerful chorus."From Ashes" is a track which again has some more of those prog touches in places, which blend in nicely with this straightforward Melodic track."The Wanderer" is a beautiful epic ballad style track beginning stripped back just piano & vocals start, which builds to a huge powerful energy driven chorus,a few tempo changes in the track with another amazing solo."One Last Cry" which was the first single from this album starts with some bad weather sound effects, which lead the way for another heavy rhythmic, dramatic track with that Sarayasign cinematic sound, the piano again sounds superb, another top notch track.
Next track "The Nameless Ones" is a track which is beat driven, with a tempo change when the chorus kicks in,superb vocally with more immaculate guitar work.Another fantastic ballad "Coming Home" has powerful vocals full of emotion tinted with power soulful intent ,which lead the way, with lush melodies & rhythm,no doubt live this will sound superb. With a faster tempo, crunchy riffs "WalkingAlone" is a heavy driven track that packs a knockout punch,"Bleeding Hope" is another cinematic spectacle melodic masterpiece, with stellar musicianship, production & delivery. The album reaches its conclusion with "Throne Of Gold Part III - The Hidden Portal" is very heavy from the start, with the tempo picking up ,with another Melodic chorus which is like the end credits of a blockbuster movie.
Sarayasign's third instalment is a wondrous cinematic masterpiece that concludes the storyline in this saga of three superbly put together concept albums, which have huge potential to be considered to be adapted to film or tv.The production is some of the best I've heard, all the instruments are perfectly mixed.the vocals are some of the most powerful & strong I have heard this year, the guitar solos are incredible. One of the best albums I have heard this year. Not to be missed,a highly recommended listen or purchase.
