Alvorecer De Última Hora

Jletylishie

This is Black Metal at its most hasty, restless, and breathless, and an album that never stands still, never settles, never lets you fully catch up. The album’s real triumph is how it merges two emotional forces rarely balanced this well: wonder and urgency. The melodic passages make you look upward in awe, while the relentless pace pulls you forward, heart racing, as though you’re chasing a revelation you can almost grasp.

JLETYLISHIE is an Atmospheric/Post Black Metal band hailing from Brazil. That's the only information I was able to gather on the band. The album has six songs, and "O Sol Desapareceu Novemente" is first. It opens with clean tones that are quite beautiful and sets a landscape of the first calming snow of winter. Distorted guitars, heavy drums, and the thick thudding of bass notes enter after, but the melodies remain strong. It's a very charming song, despite the aggression, and that groove will get stuck in your head…very catchy. There are no vocals, so the band let's the music do the speaking. "Desfecho do Crepusculo" storms out of the gate like the world is on fire. I can't talk enough about the melody used. It is so calming and catchy, and it helps the aggression mellow into the background. It's the kind of sound that can cast a light on your darkest days and show you the way home.

"Escurecer da Lua" has opening guitar tones that fire up the ache in your stomach that you thought was long gone. It has a wondrous sound that you are always chasing, but can't quite seem to catch up to. Like a pot of gold over the rainbow, you question whether or not it is even real, and the instruments work in perfect unison together. "Uma Noite Sem Fin" is another aching song, and the amount of feeling and emotion that Jefferson puts into the music is overflowing. The riffs tower like mountain peaks, and underneath gentle rivers flow and the grass is lush with multi-colored flowers. It's like a cold rain late in the fall…chilling and depressing, but rain also softens edges, deepens colors, and gives everything a reflective glow. "Madrugada" is simply another winner. It has a firm backbone, and that only supports the melody rising even higher. That cold ache is still there, gnawing at your exposed skin at every turn.

"Alvorecer De Última Hora" is the final song, and it sends caution to the wind, with another heavy structure underneath glowing melodies. It leaves the album with some question marks…like what happens next? On another level, it closes the journey on a positive note. This is Black Metal at its most hasty, restless, and breathless, and an album that never stands still, never settles, never lets you fully catch up. The album's real triumph is how it merges two emotional forces rarely balanced this well: wonder and urgency. The melodic passages make you look upward in awe, while the relentless pace pulls you forward, heart racing, as though you're chasing a revelation you can almost grasp.
