Destructive Elite Terror

Det

The songs all have that kind of vibe that will remind you of bands like MIDNIGHT and early AGENT STEEL, only a little (or if you will, a lot) rougher around the edges. It sounds like DET have decided to leave all their tunes as pure and unedited as possible. And even though I would liked to have a better production, I have to admit that the way that this is done really fits the bill.

DET stands for Destructive Elite Terror and is a Finnish band from Helsinki. They started making music in 2022, and after two demos ("Death Night" in 2022, and "Vengeance" in 2023) and a split with KRUSIFOITU in 2023 their first big release was the compilation album "Death Night's Vengeance" in 2024. There will be no contest as to determine if you can guess what is on that album. but let's get back to the current. 17 October 2025 will see the real debut album "Destructive Elite Terror" being let loose on the world, thanks to record company Dying Victims Productions. The Black/Speed Metal that DET plays is a combination that is not really rare nowadays, but the market isn't exactly overflowing with this kind of bands either. That makes it interesting to find out if "Destructive Elite Terror" stands up and is able to hold its own.

First off, I have to warn you that the sound isn't as crisp and clear as I would like. It has more of an underground feel, which does suit the music that DET makes. And I understand that there are a lot of fans of the Black/Speed Metal genre that prefer their sound that way. I don't mind, as long as I can distinguish all that is being played by the band. In that respect DET have got an okay sound on "Destructive Elite Terror". And the 41:14 minutes they have available to them have been filled to the brim with quite intense and in your face music.

It gives you as a listener an insight into the (rotten) core of the music of DET. What "Destructive Elite Terror" will give you is a feeling that you are listening to a bloody good demo from the late eighties, early nineties, only without any palpable shortcomings in sound or intensity. And I have to finish with the sentence that the more I listen to DET and "Destructive Elite Terror", the more I am liking what I hear. This is a solid album.
