Divided We Fall

Biohazard

And as far as I can determine, the compositions that you find on “Divided We Fall” is what I was hoping for on a new BIOHAZARD album. They stand out, they have form, they are hard hitting, direct and if you ask me bloody impressive.

BIOHAZARD are back in their original line-up and it immediately shows. Their own brand of Hardcore mixed with Metal is the kind that will have you jumping, moshing, thrashing and headbanging like you did over 30 years ago. Yes, that is how contagious and addictive their sound was, is and always will be. But let's go back a bit first. Formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1987 they got off to a rough start, which still resulted in their debut album "Biohazard" in 1990. What that did do is change their future, as that resulted in them signing with Roadrunner Records in 1991. That is when it really started to happen for these four working class musicians. "Urban Discipline" did so well that they were picked up by the Metal fans as well as the Hardcore fans, and ultimately by the major label Warner Brothers . That gave us albums like "State Of The World Address" and "Mata Leao", which got these guys to the top of the food chain, making them forerunners and examples for a lot of other Hardcore bands. The following album "New World Disorder" was released by another major label, Mercury, but just didn't do it in sales.

After that they went back to indie labels, and the line-up changed a few times. What people really wanted was to have the original four back together, and for a long time it looked like that wouldn't happen. But the Metal and Hardcore lords work in mysterious ways. The first time they reunited was for their 2012 album "Reborn In Defiance". I have to (shamefully) admit that I'm not familiar with that one. Now they're having another go and are willing to wait and see where they end up this time. Well, let me be clear; what is hear on "Divided We Fall" is exactly as I feel that BIOHAZARD should sound like. Rough, relentless, without compromise, fast paced and bloody intense, without any limitations or reservations in sight.

And as far as I can determine, the compositions that you find on "Divided We Fall" is what I was hoping for on a new BIOHAZARD album. They stand out, they have form, they are hard hitting, direct and if you ask me bloody impressive. I think that anyone who has lost touch with BIOHAZARD after their glory days (like me) should go out and get this new album "Divided We Fall", which will hit the shelves of your local record store on 17 October 2025. And when you realise that this is a bloody brilliant album, you can hang your head in shame (again, like me) whilst simultaneously embracing the fact that you can enjoy another round of contagious and addictive BIOHAZARD style Hardcore.
