Infinite Measure, Finite Existence

Jester Majesty

JESTER MAJESTY is showing us as listeners that they are capable of making music that is not standard, and certainly not boring.

Wow, JESTER MAJESTY knows how to make an entrance. These Italians from Turin only formed last year (in 2024), but already have enough material to fill over 47 minutes of Progressive Death/Thrash Metal on "Infinite Measure, Finite Existence". After the short intro "Zero-Point Collapse" the band doesn't waste any time in trying to woo you with their abilities on "Human vs. Machine". For the most part it is a fast, furious and very intense song, which only is emphasised by the slow and almost acoustic interlude halfway along. It is just a starting point for JESTER MAJESTY in showing us as listeners that they are capable of making music that is not standard, and certainly not boring. What does bug me though is the bloody annoying fade out at the end of this song. What a let-down.

I know there are only two band members mentioned, and I have no clue as to has helped them physically, or if they did that through good programming of the other instruments. But however they achieved that, they have done a bloody good job at making sure that what you hear is not only very musical, but also very intrinsic in getting your brain to work overtime in trying to make sense of it all. It's not that "Infinite Measure, Finite Existence" is overly difficult or extremely hard to follow, but JESTER MAJESTY does make sure that not one second is wasted. If you wish to listen carefully and with your fullest attention, tit will exhaust you in a very pleasant way.

I don't know how they have done it, but every song is just right. It has the proper atmosphere, the breaks and tempo changes are as what you were hoping for, even if you might not expect them to be,  Most impressive song on the album for me is "Married to the Masterplan". That is the one tune where everything that JESTER MAJESTY stands for on "Infinite Measure, Finite Existence" really comes to fruition. It is the epitome of what good music in combination with a full and satisfying sound will do. It also is the heaviest song on the album, with an intensity that will have you gasping for air at the end of it. The rest of the songs on "Infinite Measure, Finite Existence" will see you just being amazed time and time again, until the end of the record. That is when you will realise that you just might have witnessed the birth of a very promising future for JESTER MAJESTY. Now it's up to the band and us as audience to work together to make that happen. I'm all in.
