I have pretty much exhausted all my adjectives in describing the music of WINGS OF STEEL in my previous five reviews of this incredible heavy metal band ("Gates of Twilight" July 18, 2023, "Wings of Steel" March 18, 2024, "Live in France" February 15, 2025, "Winds of Time" (single) June 17, 2025, "We Rise" (single) August 24, 2025.

So where do I even start as I review the latest single "Burning Sands"  from the upcoming album "Winds of Time" scheduled for self-release on October 17, 2025. The song is a reflective and immersive journey through desolation and devastation. Like Ralphie from the movie  "A Christmas Story" feverishly opening up his gifts in anticipation of the grand prize, a Red Ryder air rifle, and while I'm absolutely loving the three singles released so far but waiting for the final pinnacle, the brass ring, my Red Ryder air rifle….the new album. I could easily copy and paste my past reviews to sum up "Burning Sands", but I'll never get my Pulitzer that way, so I have to try and summarize without sounding redundant. Hmmm….let's see….I've used "magnificent" before and I've used "explosive" before, ahhh, "intoxicating"….no wait, I've used that also, so, I better just pull out the ole Thesaurus and try to simplify it. "Burning Sands" is an exhilarating journey through a kaleidoscope of a Euphoria magical sound constructed from a meticulous combination of majestic musicianship, dynamic structure and raw and intense emotion.

Leo Unnermark is the new voice of heavy metal, he's in a class by himself with his unique technical vocal process, astonishing range and commanding stage presence, he sets the tone for the band and the pairing with guitar virtuoso Parker Halub who creates a true old school, devouring heavy metal headbanging sound that melts your face and let's not forget the backbone of the rhythm section with Stefan John Bailet adding rhythm guitar, Matt Trobec on bass and Marcel Binder banging home the drums complementing flawlessly with impeccable timing and dynamic interplay blending the entire band together as one true force of heavy metal ecstasy. "Burning Sands" is a timely reflection on the looming consequences of geopolitical insanity….and a warning!

What more can I say that I haven't already, WINGS OF STEEL hits on all cylinders and checks all the boxes as they continue to lead the charge of the new, heavy metal resurgence. After successful and critically acclaimed tours in Europe in 2024 and 2025, WINGS OF STEEL will be finally touring America and Canada in early 2026 as part of the SABATON "Legends on Tour" show starting February 9th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, so get out there and support "LIVE" music and keep the passion burning.
