THE ORDER's 2007's album "Welcome To The Metal Casino" was a very good release like a mix between WASP & GOTTHARD with some slightly modern US Hard Rock influences, still a very recommended platter.
The first and third albums were a little bit less interesting more in the traditional Hard Rock roots, but the vocals by Gianni Pontillo (Also singer of PURE INC.) were obviously the main asset of this Swiss outfit. In fact with PURE INC. his vocals sound quite near of those provided by the SOUNDGARDEN's leader Chris Cornell. For the three early albums some Blackie Lawless overtones were also more than perceptible. With a clear will to make a revival CD, in "1986" their fourth works, Pontillo sounds more like a mix between Paul Stanley / Sammy Hagar & David Coverdale or maybe a young version of Paul Shortino, while the melodic type of Metal displayed by the band is fully in the vein of RATT / DEF LEPPARD / KING KOBRA / QUIET RIOT / CINDERELLA / ROUGH CUTT / KICK AXE / ICON or KISS.
Because as you can easily guess, thanks to the title and the airbrushed cover, you may notice that this album is a tribute to the greatest era of all time, at least concerning Hard Rock & Hair Metal: The late 80s. But if you pass on this particular aspect, this album may hold some strong melodies and some perfect 80s Rock N Roll / Party Metal cuts, the whole boosted by a dash of Euro Metal like JUDAS PRIEST & co. The gimmicks aren't too obvious but the style is definitively somewhere between contemporary acts like: WATCHMEN / SLIPPERY / JETTBLACK / KORITNI / DIAMOND LANE / GUNNERS SIXX but not in the parody way used by the likes of WIG WAM. Yes, It's a tribute and not a caricature, made with respect and subtlety, not a spoof satire, except for a short time in "Fire It Up" where the lyrics were borrowed from "Panama" by VAN HALEN...It's truly authentic. I even double checked if renowned producer Spencer Proffer wasn't involved at some point. This album is recommended for all nostalgic Metal Quarantine Maniacs but not exclusively.
