There are moments when every Metal fan hears a new band and thinks ‘why in the blazes I didn’t know such band before?’, even being musicians, writers, label owners and others. It’s because the band’s music is so good and fits on the personal tastes of the fans, and it’s the case of the Swedish quartet IMPERISHABLE, as heard on their second full-length, “Swallowing the World”. The front cover artwork is a creation of Juanjo Castellano (known for his works for VOMITORY, SKELETAL REMAINS and many others), a combination of fine contrasts of colors and that resembles a bit the cover of “From Beyond”, of MASSACRE. On the sound production, the band worked on Sonic Train Studios with Andy LaRocque (yes, the guitarist of KING DIAMOND, who previously worked on studio with acts as KING DIAMOND, AT THE GATES, FALCONER, LORD BELIAL, EINHERJER, EVERGREY, MELECHESH and others) on recordings, mixing and mastering, and the sonority is a ‘state-of-the-art’ thing: defined and with everything listenable, but heavy and aggressive as well (and with a wise choice for the instrumental tunes).

As guests, Andy plays lead guitars on “Blood to Bleed”, and Dennis Röndum (singer of RETROMORPHOSIS, and former singer and drummer of SWAWN OF POSSESSION) made some vocals on “Cenotaph of Dreams”, “Out of the Night” and “Swallowing the World”. The musical ways of the band converge into a Blackened Death Metal format (with clear traces of Swedish Death Metal and Melodic Death Metal), what means that’s aggressive and brutal, but with a refined technical appeal and some hooking melodies bounding everything together. The result is something aggressive, full of energy and personality, and able to conquer everyone that hears to the band’s music.

“Bells”, “Blood to Bleed”, “Where No One Survives”, “Riding Demons”, “The Remembering”, “Cenotaph of Dreams”, “Out of the Night”, “The Erosion of Reason” and “Swallowing the World” depict a form of music with unusual combinations of vocals - that are using a more natural growl set of tunes that the usual death growls - guitars with amazing riffs, themes and leads; and bass guitar and drums that create a heavy and technical rhythmic artillery that supports the songs and give them the right weighty outfit. It’s different, indeed, but with links to genres that enables the fans to understand the musical ideas expressed on the songs easily.

As a second full-length, “Swallowing the World” states that IMPERISHABLE is here to stay and has a place in the scene. But it opens ways for a third release in the future that will boost the band’s name to the entire world (as this one couldn’t do it). đŸ€˜đŸ» đŸ€˜đŸ» đŸ€˜đŸ»
