Five years after "Snakes & Arrows", RUSH is back. The powerful trio is heads once again with a new LP full of sophisticated Heavy Rock. After a 40+ year career this guys are still alive and kicking and to me it seems that they are also getting heavier. This album comes 5 years after "Snakes & Arrows" that was a pretty successful album that brought RUSH back to the audience and took them to 5 years of touring , live DVDs and the whole nine yards. These three guys are, in my opinion, the best musical trio alive! Three guys that sound bigger than most five or even six crewed bands. And the most amazing thing is that they just keep improving and getting heavier with age.
The album starts with "Caravans" that was also the first single that was released almost 2 years ago and is part of the set list from their last live DVD. The song is heavy / groovy with a powerful rhythm section and awesome guitars. This is definitely the style of the album, even though RUSH themselves said that this album is going to be more progressive and epic. "Clockwork Angels" turned out to be a perfect sequel to "Snakes & Arrows". RUSH with the help of producer Nick Raskulinecz still sounds fresh and interesting in 2012 and still are one of the top bands of the world, and it's a shame that the Rock N' Roll hall of fame hasn't notice that just yet.
Overall it is a great album if you're RUSH fans. It's definitely not in the same level as their great albums of the late 70s or early 80s but for 2012 it's an awesome worth buying CD.
