Isolationist

Fight The Fade

This is a very good Modern Metal/Rock release, indeed.

There’s a lot of prejudice in the Rock scene worldwide, especially when a new band is trying its luck on Modern Rock tendencies. To some fans, such thing is blasphemy, and to go into the future and explore new sonorities is a waste of time (ok, this people need to stop acting like Jorge de Burgos on Umberto Eco’s book “The Name of the Rose”, because many are truly sick of this behavior). For those who are into such tendencies, to hear to FIGHT THE FADE’s music is a mandatory thing, because you’ll enjoy “Isolationist”, their new album.

The trio’s music covers a lot of influences into Modern Metal tendencies (New Metal, Metalcore, Alternative Metal, etc), old Industrial Rock traces a melodic musical embodiment to make their music. It’s not a sin to just label them as Modern Rock or Modern Hard Rock, because it’s hard to say something more exact (such definitions are ample). The best way is to listen to their music and enjoy, because it’s full of identity and energy. To produce their album, the band took the whole responsibility, with Tyler Simpson (the band’s guitarist) taking care of the mixing and mastering (and who created the artwork as well). The sonority is ‘full’ and ‘greasy’, with strong instrumental tunes. But it sounds defined in a way that anything can be understood without problems. It’s really a very good work. And as guest, here is Daedric on “Scratching”.

Musically, as said above, the band’s music can be said as Modern Rock with influences of many modern musical tendencies. And it’ll be heard for those into such ways resist to songs as “Eye of the Hurricane” (very good and accessible melodies with excellent contrasts), “Gangrene” (the modern feeling is present on this one, especially due the electronic effects inherited from Industrial Rock and fine guitar parts), “Stranger”, “Alive Again”, “Set You Free” (tender melodies and excellent vocals), “Isolationist” (this one is clearly accessible for a broader public, but with bone-smashing parts from the drums), “Next Sunrise” (another moment created to radio programs), “Scratching” (the intense groove inherited from New Metal is clear, and what fine female vocals), “Quarantine”, “Let You Know” (the touch of melancholy of the album) and “Revolution”. It’s not a sin to say that “Isolationist” is an album full of emotions expressed in form of music.

If you’re into Modern Rock and Metal tendencies, “Isolationist” is the album you were looking for, and FIGHT THE FADE is a name to pay close attention to.
