Piles of Festering Decomposition (Reissue)
200 Stab Wounds
Absolute musical filth is brought to you courtesy of 200 STAB WOUNDS. But hey, what’s in a name. If you need that many tries, you’re either a very bad murderer or a very sadistic one. But whatever the outcome, it might be wise to wear an apron before commencing your degradation in full force. “Piles of Festering Decomposition (Reissue)” is called a reissue because the original is from 2021 and back then it was only released on cassette. Now it being brought to you in a CD version. For those who don’t what they are, Google will help you. Back to the band; 200 STAB WOUNDS have been making their brand of noise since 2019 and are from Cleveland in Ohio, USA and play Extremely Gore Death Metal with the vocals to match. You just have to look at the covers of their albums to know that nobody and no body is spared. This slaughterhouse experience is a sadistic butchers paradise. As for how well received this brand of Death Metal is; a little while ago “Metal Mark” Garcia of METAL TEMPLE reviewed their latest album “Manual Manic Procedures” and rated it 9 out of 10. So, even though this is as degrading as can be, the music the band makes really does work.
And yes, it also did and does on “Piles of Festering Decomposition (Reissue)”, which was their very first release. It seems like a very smart move to rerelease this EP less than half a year after their second full length album “Manual Manic Procedures” hit the streets. The attention is there, keep it up! By the way, I haven’t got a clue whether Steve Buhl uses words or just sounds to get his message across, as it is impossible to understand what he is grunting about. His gravelly vocals are so low that they just sound like a boar with a massive cold trying to attract other pigs to the slaughter. He doesn’t care which gender or species you are, as long as you’re willing to be disassembled in the most gruesome ways. And like I said, the music of 200 STAB WOUNDS matches those sentiments note for note. Really down and dirty Death Metal played to you at pace. The five songs don’t even reach the 15-minute mark. Is that a problem? Not for me, because it actually makes me want to check out the other releases by 200 STAB WOUNDS. Let’s see if the splatter percentage is just as prevalent as on “Piles of Festering Decomposition (Reissue)”.
