Following the departure of Nicholas Barker to hardcore act Borstal, Adam Jarvis (Misery Index, Pig Destroyer) took over the drums duties and Tomas Lindberg(Grotesque, At The Gates..) joined the band again for a duelling vocals insane assault on LOCK UP's new album entitled 'The Dregs of Hades' . The fifth LOCK UP album explodes and keeps on exploding for a gruelling, sinew-wrenching 40 minutes of black-hearted speed-worship.
'The Dregs of Hades' is to be unleashed on the 26th of November. LOCK UP new album was created entirely by the band members being spread out all over the planet and it came out amazingly pro sounding and massively powerful.
Kevin Sharp (vocals) comments:
Basically Anton (Reisenegger - guitars) loaded a dropbox of very rough arrangements... Adam would go in with his drum program, write his parts and solidify the arrangements! then passing them to me and Tompa ! As for Shane's songs! he is specific and wrote all parts! Once Adam learned his parts, and shane's songs, he went in and nailed it in a handful of takes! He's that good! With the vocals, I wrote and tracked some things and sent them to Tompa - he did the same, until we had a complete record. Both of us tracked and re-tracked the songs in our own phrasing, adding an interesting contrast in style and tone. I really don't think it would have been possible without the shear volume of recording experience we have collectively. That said, I believe we would also agree the nature of the way the recording happened, in our darkest of times... makes this somewhat special for all of us.
