Iron Fate - Cast In Iron album cover

IRON FATE is a Power Metal band from Germany. Their singer sounds exactly like Rob Halford and Tim Owens. So obviously there is going to be some JUDAS PRIEST comparisons. I believe he can actually hit higher notes than both of them. He even out does KING DIAMOND in places. Out of all those vocalists, if I had to pick just one to compare him to it would be Tim Owens. Whereas Tim and Rob do not scream all the time in every single song Denis Brosowski does. You can either tolerate it, or you can't. I think it takes too much away from the music. There is no need to hit the highest of notes on a constant basis. It should fit the material, and in this case sadly it does not always do so. The music itself is classic Power Metal. JUDAS PRIEST does not play this type of music. If you ever wanted to hear what the "Priest" would sound like if they did attempt a Power Metal album, then this is your chance.

The biography of the band that came with their album mentions that they base their sound on JUDAS PRIEST, BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN. If you can find any BLACK SABBATH in this music, then you deserve a gold medal. It is absolutely nowhere to be found. That doesn't mean the band sucks. This is a decent band that needs a little maturation. All they need right now is a producer to reign in the vocalist and they will be all set to take on the world of Power Metal. This band does have talent, there is no denying that.

The songs are mostly up tempo with only one ballad. The production is solid also. This is definitely a professionally done album. The production is well executed. If you like high pitched screams, this one is for you. I know I don't hold the copyright on opinions. I just do as well as I can do when reviewing an album. I remember years ago when "The Ripper" let loose I couldn't seem to get enough. Now that I am older, it's not as cool. That said, not everyone is as old as I am. If you like it loud and in your face, then by all means: go out and buy this album.
