Let's admit it, rock music has almost died in recent years. Hard rock, punk, and metal have been relatively underground, losing popularity faster than ever before. Sure, huge bands like Foo Fighters have remained in the public eye their whole career, but even they have lost a huge chunk of their fan base in the past decade.

Everyone was ready to forget about rock but it seems that rock has started gaining popularity once more. Huge bands have reunited and once again the community behind these musical subcultures became too loud to ignore.
Here are some signs that indicate that rock music will dominate the industry in the near future.

Genre-bending

Some people love it, some hate it, but it's becoming harder to classify music by genre. There are bands like Imagine Dragons that are borderline pop bands, but they stack up against the revivalist movement of Rival Sons. These two are both differently sounding bands, but they come under "modern rock".

As rock bands continue to experiment with electronic and pop sounds, this trend is likely to continue in 2020 and beyond. These bands have undoubtedly inspired a ton of songwriters to tie in synthesizers in the rock structure, and every year brings the potential to some new musician.

Diversity

A business must be customer-centric in order to thrive in the market, and the music industry is no exception to this. To be customer-centric means to ensure that the growth is completely aligned with what the customers want. It seems that rock music is pretty much inspired by the iGaming sector in terms of diversity and building scale. As the preferences of all players are different, online casinos offer a wide variety of casino titles, including online Blackjack Game, Roulette, and Slots to cater to all players.

The world of rock music has recently seen more underrepresented groups than ever before. And fans want to see new artists contributing their ideas and reviving this genre of music. Some of the songwriters who were considered outsiders in the past have contributed immensely to rock music. And seeing this trend, it's likely that the world of rock will see more diversity in the coming years.

Streaming

Recently, some younger bands have claimed that apps like Spotify have provided them with the opportunity that the traditional system would never have. Truly, young artists have far more paths to discover thanks to YouTube, Spotify, and other streaming platforms.

On the other hands, it has made the lives of professional songwriters and established bands harder. Essentially, the old system meant that artists didn't have to tour, and could anonymously write music for a living.

However, streaming could be a huge positive for the world of rock music. Increased publicity and accessibility could stimulate more and more people to listen to and play rock. The downside, it may never be as profitable to a band as it was in the golden era of rock labels.
