Pagan heavy rockers BERSÆRK (Danish for 'Berzerk') have gone from victory to victory since the beginning of their raid in 2012. The band has won over the Danish metal and rock audiences with their unique mix of stoner and heavy rock with Danish lyrics, most recently with the second album 'Jernbyrd' from 2018. This past October, BERSÆRK released the live album 'Live i Pumpehuset' taped at their sold out April show at the legendary venue. But today, BERSÆRK is back with brand new music in the shape of the single 'Balders bål' - Danish for "The Pyre of Balder", referring to burial of Odin's son, the beautiful and foreseeing god Balder.

'Balders bål' is the first precursor of the band's next album set for a spring 2020 release. The song roams within the mythic world of BERSÆRK, where the ancient Nordic past is brought to life in a contemporary context, and the single is a dynamic rocker showcasing the combo's versatility and hard hitting songwriting talent. BERSÆRK os also working on a grandly produced music video for the song, which can be expected to premiere later this month. Drummer Simon Gleerup Meiner states the following about 'Balders bål':

"'Balders Bål' was a song that already existed within us. It didn't write itself and had to be lured out, but it is a natural extension of the already existing BERSÆRK material. And also, it is a banger, that gets us in a raging mood, when we play it."

BERSÆRK are first and foremost musicians and an outstanding live band, and 'Balders bål' can be heard as a regular part of the set at the band's forthcoming concerts. The band can now reveal that they will perform at Denmark's biggest metal festival Copenhell in June 2020 - their third show at the festival, where they in 2018 played to an massive and enthusiastic audience. Guitarist Lars Evers and singer Casper Roland-Popp was also a part of the all star band 'Omvendt Korstog' alongside Tim Christensen (Dizzy Mizz Lizzy) and Jacob Binzer (D.A.D.), that performed the Copenhell festival hymn 'Ulvens Ed' ('The Wolf's Oath') at the grand 10 year anniversary show on this year's festival.

Also, BERSÆRK has just announced that they will support the Danish rock legends Dizzy Mizz Lizzy on their April arena tour in Denmark's four biggest cities, alongside grunge rock veterans Psyched Up Janis. Additionally, the band can look forward to a handful of DK headliner dates in February and March, while the band also conspires to play Europe during 2020.

Info on BERSÆRK:

In 2012, the wild wolf returned to Denmark, and the very same year, BERSÆRK arose! Following the release of the EP 'Trældom', the debut album 'Mulm' and the latest album 'Jernbyrd' from 2018, BERSÆRK has toured extensively in the native Denmark, as well as in Norway and Germany. They are known for their intense and energetic live performances and with time, they have built a solid and loyal crowd of followers, these days known as "Bersærkere" - 'Berzerkers' in English. During this period, they have positioned themselves in the top of the Danish underground and created their own definition of pagan heavy rock in the native Danish tongue.

The last couple of years, BERSÆRK has headlined on all major venues in Denmark, and they performed at Roskilde Festival back in 2016. On the Copenhell Metal Cruise in 2017, they played what was called the best show on the boat's initial trip. Also, they have supported a string of big national and international names (Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, Red Fang, EYEHATEGOD, Monster Magnet og Baroness) and in 2017, they toured both Norway and Germany. In June 2018, they played Copenhell for the second time, where they gathered the largest audience ever on the Pandæmonium stage.

April 2019 signified yet another pinnacle in the band's journey, when BERSÆRK sold out the main hall in the legendary Copenhagen venue Pumpehuset. It became an night to remember, as everyone present merged into one burning unity of music, and this career highlight was captured for eternity in the shape of the double live album 'Live I Pumpehuset, that was released this past October.

Guitarist Lars Evers and singer Casper Roland-Popp also took part in the Copenhell all star band Omvendt Korstog, in which Evers wrote the lyrics for the festival hymn 'Ulvens Ed' (Danish for 'The Wolf's Oath') and DK rock legends Tim Christensen (Dizzy Mizz Lizzy) and Jacob Binzer (D.A.D) composed the music. The song is a part of the Copenhell anniversary release 'Ten Years In Hell', which was performed at the Copenhell anniversary show in front of 18.000 people at this year's festival.
