Powerplay Magazine - 8/10

"Caught By The Machine is just a downright fun and incredibly enjoyable listen. It's an album the listener can just lose themselves in with throwbacks to golden eras of Progressive Rock and refreshing modern takes on classic ideas"
Ghost Cult - 8/10

ollowing the release of their third studio album 'Caught By The Machine' on 22nd February 2019 and a summer filled with performances at the Rockforce, Cambridge Rock and Wokingham Festivals, Reading rock sextet The Room have released a brand new lyric video ahead of their upcoming tour with labelmates and special geusts The Paradox Twin!

'Bloodstream' serves as the final breath of The Room's latest studio album, closing off the affair with a tense and captivating expanse of cool, 80s-inspired rock riffing. Lead vocalist Martin Wilson's voice cracks purposefully above, pushing through a radio-esque filter to preach a sermon that summarises the album's thematic explorations of drugs, technology, fake news, scams, social media and more.

On the creation of 'Bloodstream' as the album's closing track, Wilson explains...

"We have traditionally closed our albums with something a little different and 'Bloodstream' fills that role perfectly. It started life in the rehearsal studio as a jam between Andy (bass) and Chris (drums). We started hearing really dark keyboard themes, which Mark duly delivered, complemented with manic dirty guitars. We sent the demo over to Eric to have a play with and back came this choppy Nile Rogers-esque funky guitar riff. For us, Bloodstream was something totally unexpected, but something incredibly exciting."

The darkly artistic lyric video for the track siphons the song's hanging tension into stark a visual journey, as skulls, television screens and surgical knives flicker in and out of shot, blood crashing down from an unknown source.

"We are absolutely thrilled by the work that Miles and the team at Crystal Spotlight have done on this fantastic new video," says The Room bassist and backing vocalist Andy Rowe. "It's the first "lyric video" that we have released and the power of the graphics really represent the powerful messages in the lyrics. We are so pleased to share this with you ahead of our tour!"

The Room will be touring through early November with labelmates and special guests The Paradox Twin, whose album 'The Importance of Mr Bedlam' was released on 29th June 2018, with the video single 'Planeta' being nominated for Video Of The Year in the 2018 Progressive Music Awards, and a nomination in this year's awards in the Limelight category.
