It's hardly a secret that some of the most potent hard rock ever comes from the American midwest-places like Detroit and Cleveland, after all, have long since settled into a rusted-out post-industrial bleakness that serves as perfect inspiration for jagged, abrasive music. And lately, Columbus, once best known among underground musicologists as an incubator for garage-punk, is coming into its own as a hub of heaviness; recent years have seen C-Bus doom, heavy-psych and post-punk bands proffer stellar, head-turning albums, but before ALL of the impressive new crop, there was Lo-Pan.

The well-respected heavy stoner rock outfit from Ohio has just released their critically acclaimed, fourth studio album titled Subtle on May 17th with Aqualamb Records, produced by James Brown (NIN, Foo Fighters, Ghost) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Mastodon, Deftones, Bad Company, GNR).

Formed in 2005 and forged from the fire of more than 1,000 white hot live performances alongside peers such as High on Fire, Torche, KENmode and more, Lo-Pan's "secret" is its unfuckwithable ability to create immersive rock music born of dynamic dazzle, progressive pummel and emotional energy. Silky, yet punishing. With their fourth full-length, bassist Skot Thompson, drummer Jesse Bartz, guitarist Chris Thompson and singer Jeff Martin have pushed Lo-Pan's already high ceiling straight through its proverbial roof!

In support of Lo-Pan's brand new album, the band will be heavily hitting the road this Fall, with very special guests Steak and Elephant Tree! A MUST-SEE tour package that will make every stoner, hard and heavy rock-heart beat faster, catch them live at the following dates, with many more to be revealed soon:
