HOLLOW WORLD: Sign with Truth Inc. Records.
November 1, 2017
Truth Inc Records are very excited to announce the signing of rising melo-death stars Hollow World.
The five-piece hail from Melbourne and have taken the Australian heavy scene by storm in 2017 with the release of their debut album Exanimate as well as gracing stages around the country with some of the best bands Australia, and the world, has to offer.
After playing coveted festivals such as the inaugural Thrash, Blast and Grind Festival in Melbourne, Blacken Open Air in Alice Springs and the Dead of Winter festival in Brisbane and supporting the likes of Fleshgod Apocalypse and Fallujah, Hollow World are set to tour Australia with Once Human in early 2018 and then are planning on setting their sights beyond Australian shores.
"We are excited to join a label like Truth Inc. We've always admired the Truth Corroded guys and their drive and now, to work with their label after seeing what they have done in the past with other Australian bands, we are very keen. They have impressed us with their vision for the future and we are looking forward to moving ahead with them as we grow our career," says vocalist Ben Roberts of the decision.
Truth Inc are equally excited at the prospect of working with Hollow World and helping them reach their potential.
"We are incredibly stoked to have Hollow World join the label! They are one of the best bands to have come out of the frenetic Melbourne heavy music scene in recent years and have been as unrelenting in their work ethic as in the extremity of their music. Having firmly established themselves as a leader in the industry I look forward to working with them on the bands next album and see them grow internationally," label manager Greg Shaw adds.

Melbourne melo-death metal band Hollow World burst onto the scene in late 2012, formed out of the ashes of Wychbury Hill, and rapidly began building
their reputation within the Australian music industry.
Hollow World began when guitarists Michael Truscott and Theo Goslett started jamming and writing new material with drummer Michael Hodgson and vocalist Karl Steller after the disbanding of Wychbury Hill. It wasn't long until they were joined by Josh Hynes on bass and with a complete lineup and a new outlook and such was the hype surrounding the band, that they booked their first show as the support on the Bleeding Through farewell tour of Australia in July 2013.
Building on the momentum of that show, and the response they received, Hollow World then entered the studio to record their debut EP 'Beneath The Frozen Sky'. The five track album came out in November 2013 to rave reviews.
2014 saw the band's name grow as they hit the stages in Melbourne and surrounds, supporting some of the best in the Australian music scene. Bands like Psycroptic, Aversions Crown, ROME, Boris The Blade, Make Them Suffer and Frankenbok were all keen to have them join their gigs.
However it was also in 2014 that Hollow World lost Steller as their vocalist. Steller departed shortly after the release of their single 'Silence' to pursue his drumming career. It wasn't long until Ben Roberts was named as Steller's replacement and in January 2015, 'Valley of The Ghelgath' was released as their new single. The song was also accompanied by an official video clip.
Hollow World then went to work on finishing their sophomore EP 'The Wrath Kept Within' which was released June 30th 2015 to an almost sold out Corner Hotel. Following it's release Hollow World toured the country relentlessly for the remainder of 2015 - hitting almost every major city in Australia at least once, with the tour culminating in a support slot for Swedish melo-death pioneers At The Gates.
Even as an opening act the boys got the big crowd whipped up in to a frenzy. 2015 finished with a support slot for a sold out Ne Obliviscaris show at Max Watts in Melbourne. In March 2017 Hollow World released their debut LP 'Exanimate' which was recorded in Melbourne, Australia with Ermin Hamidovic at Systematic Productions (The Devin Townsend Project, Periphery,
Betraying The Martyr) to rave reviews.
After a strong Australian tour following the release, which included playing Blacken Open Air Festival, Hollow World also landed supporting sets for the Thrash Blast Grind Festival, Fallujah and Fleshgod Apocalypse, and really grew their profile both in their home town and around the country.
Now, the band are looking towards the future with plans to begin writing for their next release and of course, to continue touring extensively, both at home and making their way overseas.
