Curse Of Cain - Achtung!
October 5, 2025
Movie Metal? Really? That is how the music that CURSE OF CAIN plays is described in their EPK. To me this is just a modern take on a mix between Melodic Rock and Metalcore with Nu-Metal.

Mob Rules – Rise of the Ruler
August 26, 2025
MOB RULES has been devastating the eardrums of true heavy metal fans for over three decades. With Rise of the Ruler they show zero intention of stopping anytime soon.

Front Row Warriors - Running Out Of Time
June 25, 2025
The slower songs on “Running Out Of Time” are all okay, but the faster ones are the real stars for me. That is also where singer Elkie Gee gets to show off her wares, where she is able to combine her singing with what almost sounds like shouting, but which is done in such a way that it demonstrates how powerful her voice really is.

Ghostseeker – Divergence
May 25, 2025
“Divergence” is not a band album at all, because if you are a real Metalcore afficionado, or even a Female Fronted Gothic Metal enthusiast, you will hear a lot of parts that sound quite good.

Sacred Steel - Ritual Supremacy
May 25, 2025
What becomes very clear when listening to SACRED STEEL is that they know exactly when they can extend and when they need to cut it short. That does make that there is not one track that feels like it isn’t as the band was wanting it to be.

Hexenhaus - Awakening (Reissue)
May 14, 2025
“Awakening” is the only one of the three rereleases that is benefitting from an extra song, knowingly the demo version of the title track “Awakening”. Was that necessary? Not really. Is it a nice touch? Yes, definitely.

Hexenhaus - The Edge Of Eternity (Reissue)
May 14, 2025
“The Edge Of Eternity” actually was the second album for the band. Originally released on 1 November 1990, while this one hit the streets on 16 may 2025. It houses a lot more Thrash influences than the debut album, making it just that tad less impressive for me. But the music that HEXENHAUS plays still is Progressive Metal with Thrash and (this time less) Heavy Metal parts to complete the sound.

Hexenhaus - A Tribute To Insanity (Reissue)
May 14, 2025
A Tribute To Insanity” actually was the debut album for the band. Originally released on 17 October 1988, while this one hit the streets on 16 may 2025. It immediately starts with the kind of music that defines HEXENHAUS; Progressive Heavy/Thrash Metal. If you need a reference, think a less extreme version of MEKONG DELTA mixed with snippets of OVERKILL and early METAL CHURCH.

Kilmara - Journey to the Sun
March 12, 2025
The sound on “Journey to the Sun” is impeccable. Producer Seeb Levermann (a.o. Orden Ogan, Angus MCSIX, Rhapsody Of Fire, Riot V) has done a brilliant job in catching the right vibes to make listening to this KILMARA album quite easy.

Löanshark - No Sins To Confess
February 25, 2025
LÖANSHARK was founded as a power trio in 2017, in the heart of Barcelona, Spain. They have tried to get on the album ladder since then. In the meantime, they did release an EP in 2018 (“The Warning Sessions”) and a compilation in 20231 (“The Gangland Tapes”). And now, on Valentines Day 2025, they have released their debut album “No Sins To Confess” through the RPM-Roar label.

Saber - Without Warning
February 18, 2025
The SABER brand of super simple Old Fashioned Heavy Metal is played at the utmost enthusiastic level I have ever encountered. You can feel it radiating off the album.

Saber - Lost In Flames
February 18, 2025
Musically this is very enthusiastically written, played, recorded and released pure Heavy Metal music by a band that likes to keep things simple. They have the ability to make you take notice of everything they do, however straight forward it might be.

Grave Digger – Bone Collector
January 27, 2025
GRAVE DIGGER’s Bone Collector is a casket full of bone-cold metal. Nothing too groundbreaking, but when you’ve been playing at the heavy metal table for 45 years, consistency trumps innovation.
