March 13, 2026
I sincerely apologize in advance when I butcher these friggin' Spanish song titles

Virtue In Vain - Nothing Is All I Am
March 13, 2026
“Nothing Is All I Am” is an EP that should make VIRTUE IN VAIN come out smelling of roses. I am simply wondering why no record company has p[icked them up and given the time, space and opportunity to grow under their wings. If you ask me, this deserves to be heard worldwide.

Bite Down - Violent Playground
March 8, 2026
If songs don’t have to make sense to you, but need to be filled with as much noise and distracting sounds possible, you should give BITE DOWN a go. Who knows, “Violent Playground” may be just your thing.
review
Our Mirage - Fractured Minds
March 8, 2026
Metalcore is becoming more and more a mainstream Metal genre, and with that you will get the bands that start fitting that bill more and more. OUR MIRAGE is such a band.

Abstracted – Hiraeth
March 3, 2026
“Hiraeth” is beautiful, well balanced, but also with enough unsuspecting turns and breaks that every time you listen you can’t help but discover and/or hear something that you hadn’t noticed before. That to me makes a record a diamond in the rough, as you just don’t have a clue when the explorations will be complete.
review
Hyshtral - Ad Infinitum
February 27, 2026
In the 30 plus minutes that HYSHTRAL needs to get through “Ad Infinitum”, you will be thrown all over the place emotionally. One thing is for sure, the band definitely starts with their best song, as “Cell In Hell” is simply put a corker of a tune.
review
Echoes of Amara / Sincerely Yours - Nothing Happened Here
February 18, 2026
"Nothing Happened Here" is a small but mighty sampler to sink your teeth into once your Valentine's Day sweets are gone.

Scratch One Grub – One
February 9, 2026
. If you’re not strapped to your chair when seated and using speakers, or haven’t fastened your headphones to you when listening that way, I advise you to get that done immediately. I can’t tell you anything else than that SCRATCH ONE GRUB will blow you and/or your brains away if you’re not careful.

Textures - Genotype
February 7, 2026
The songs on “Genotype” are without fail very good, and have all the elements you would hope they would use, even if as a whole it all is a bit more mellow than what you’re used to with TEXTURES.
review
Equilibrium – Equinox
February 3, 2026
When I saw this on the to do list of METAL TEMPLE, the combination of musical styles had me intrigued. That is why I requested this review as mine. I like some Metalcore, just as I love some Folk Metal, but they have to get it right to get me really going. The question that I will be asking myself here is whether EQULIBRIUM has the ability to mix them in such a way that it will blow me away.

Defecto - Echoes Of Isolation
January 25, 2026
I do feel that the music that DEFECTO plays on “Echoes Of Isolation” has all the hallmarks of a band that is letting loose, giving it their all. I therefore have to admit that for the first time in 2026, I am smitten. What a brilliant treat this is.
review
Dymytry Paradox - Born From Chaos
January 18, 2026
What is immediate is the feeling that even though this might be a debut album for DYMYTRY PARADOX, these are definitely not newbies at playing this kind of music. This is intense, this is energetic, this is enticing.
review
Above Us The Waves - Counting Seasons
January 7, 2026
I like the sound that ABOVE US THE WAVES better than I do the tunes individually. I would even go so far as to say that if they were able to write outstanding sounds, they would be able to make a real go at musical stardom. Nevertheless, “Counting Seasons” is a very decent EP.
review
Blossoms Fall - La Alma
December 15, 2025
It is all just too neat, too controlled. I never get the feeling that the band is throwing everything they have at me, that they are holding back for future references and/or releases. If they are, that’s their bad, because that means that they are forgetting that you can only make a good first impression once.
review
Oathbound - Colors In Grey
December 15, 2025
Even though it all sounds rather nice, it also sounds very clean. A little bit too clean for a pure Metalcore band. The thing is that if you add the moniker Melodic in from of it, the whole description would make sense. Not that this is purely Melodic, but it doesn’t go as Hard and Heavy as Metalcore bands usually do.
review
Unprocessed – Angel
October 30, 2025
I genuinely thought they wouldn’t be able to better “...And Everything In Between”, but they have. UNPROCESSED have produced my album of the year with “Angel”. I dare anyone to make me listen to anything more impressive than this.
review
Extortionist - Stare Into The Seething Wounds
October 18, 2025
Musically I can’t fault “Stare Into The Seething Wounds”, as EXTORTIONIST is doing everything right. They go from fast and furious to slow, deliberate and emotional within seconds.
review
Curse Of Cain - Achtung!
October 5, 2025
Movie Metal? Really? That is how the music that CURSE OF CAIN plays is described in their EPK. To me this is just a modern take on a mix between Melodic Rock and Metalcore with Nu-Metal.
review
Henret - Depths Below
October 5, 2025
HENRET doesn’t waste a moment when starting in trying to blow you off your socks or out of your chair. The amount of noise, the level of intensity and the amount of anger and mountain of frustration that is being vomited over you by means of your speakers is undoubtedly of the highest level that I ever have experienced.
review
Accvsed - Dealers Of Doom
August 1, 2025
Somehow German Metalcore bands have the real ability to sound so angry that you feel that they are in danger of coughing out their intestines in the process. This is certainly the case with ACCVSED from Wiesbaden, who have deemed it time to try and through us off our normal behaviour and disturb the peace and quiet with their debut album “Dealers Of Doom”.
review
Jawfane - Me And All My Demons
August 1, 2025
What began as a group of friends secretly writing together has evolved into an immersive musical force that defies easy categorization. Though rooted in metal-core and hardcore sensibilities, the band refuses to be pigeonhole into a single genre.
review
Refiner - Mistake
July 31, 2025
It seems that this band wants to change rules into Metalcore. Do it!
review
Decadence Incarnate - Eternal Rebellion
July 16, 2025
Wow, what a great mix between Melodic/Technical Death Metal with Thrash Metal and Metalcore is herd on this EP!
review
DeathTrophy - The Resurgence Of Nostalgia
July 16, 2025
A very good Deathcore release, indeed.
review
Our North - Everyone For Themselves
July 8, 2025
Sheffield hard hitters, OUR NORTH, have been serving up their enticing brand of Metalcore, fused with Hip Hop and Trap, since their formation in 2019. Channelling everyone from BRING ME THE HORIZON and WHILE SHE SLEEPS to BAD OMENS, OUR NORTH unleash a sound that is soaked in power, venom, diversity, and passion. I just hear LINKIN PARK with the heavier parts using a grunt or scream that is a bit more extreme.
review
Nightbearer – Defiance
June 30, 2025
There is no mistaking the fact that NIGHTBEARER has decided to add Metalcore influences into their Death Metal, creating their own brand of Deathcore. And although I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of this musical genre., I am thoroughly enjoying “Defiance” as an album.
review
Signs Of Algorithm – Sunchaser
June 18, 2025
Once the music starts you can be sure that you are listening to a pure and unadulterated Metalcore album. SIGNS OF ALGORITHM goes for broke, and mixes aggression and Heavy Music in a very constructive and positive way.
review
Reject The Sickness – Signs Of The End
June 16, 2025
“Signs Of The End” has pace, aggression, punishing guitar riffs, relentless drumming, but is also melodic with dark melodies and features some melancholy in the melodies at times
review
Ghostseeker – Divergence
May 25, 2025
“Divergence” is not a band album at all, because if you are a real Metalcore afficionado, or even a Female Fronted Gothic Metal enthusiast, you will hear a lot of parts that sound quite good.
review
Bleed From Within – Zenith
May 9, 2025
BLEED FROM WITHIN deliver powerful Metalcore mixed with a characteristic atmospheric sound and dark melodies. “Zenith” is driven by the guitar riffing and the relentless drumming, however, on top of it sits a vocalist, who keeps the songs expertly together
review

If you're looking for a new sensation into Modern Metal genres, you must hear to this North American quartet's music.

Ephemera - For Those Afraid to Die
February 27, 2025
A surprising mix between Melodic Hardcore/Post-Hardcore and Metalcore can be found here. Taste it!
review
Killswitch Engage - This Consequence
February 25, 2025
Being one of the first bands to venture into this genre, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE has been able to invent themselves as they wanted, resulting in them making their own brand of Metalcore since 1999. These guys from Westfield in Massachusetts, USA are easily identifiable when they start playing their music. The mix of Metalcore with Thrash Metal is very distinguishable.
