Wall of Palemhor - Sing and Bleed
November 7, 2024
Wall of Palemhor from Parma, Italy does it right, and as such, their new and second full-length album, Sing and Bleed, is one of the best indie records that I’ve heard all year.

Traumatomy - Triumph of Enslavement
November 7, 2024
I could write an entire article about this one episode, and a thousand articles just based around my lifelong love of The Simpsons. However, Traumatomy is not The Simpsons, and I most certainly do not love them.
review
Kurokuma - Of Amber and Sand
October 16, 2024
They’re a band that’s very aware of the wavelength that they’re riding on, and the stark unison in which they play reflects their awareness and respect for each other.

I, Cursed – Death Holograms
October 16, 2024
And I still don’t know what I’ve listened to, but I’m glad it’s over.

Waxwing – Appetizer (Reissue)
October 16, 2024
Listening to the 2024 remaster/reissue of the 1988/1989 four-track EP Appetizer perfectly frames a band that not only “could’ve been,” they honestly “should’ve been.” There is no conceivable reason why this band couldn’t have been huge.

Sijjeel – Affiliation of Horrid Containment
October 11, 2024
There is a rule to remember for those that write and record and produce metal, and that is… just because you’re all making the same noise, doesn’t mean what you’re making is music.

Cryptic Hatred – Internal Torment
September 25, 2024
The greatest complement I can give a band is to admit that they made me head bang. They did it and did the shit out of it.

Castrated - Surgical Vicissitude
September 19, 2024
When every role in Spinal Tap is cranked up to eleven, the result can quickly and easily become heavy metal mashed potatoes.

Spawned From Hate - Elective Amputation
September 19, 2024
It seems every song plays out as if someone took a small group of musician’s that had never met each other before, brought them all into a studio and said, “Hey. Do a death metal.” And this album is what they did.
review
Ossilegium - The Gods Below
August 18, 2024
Like the Whitest of Stripes before them, a band with only two members can only do so much.
review
Necrocene - Detrimental Paratomy
August 16, 2024
I don’t need gargle bargle in crystal clear 4k hi-def quality. I need it real, genuine, and ugly.

Human Infection - Gravesight
August 13, 2024
The most memorable parts are the bad parts, and everything else is just “meh.”

Slipknot: Live in Burgettstown
August 10, 2024
A perfect nostalgic reminder of why I used to hate Slipknot in the first place. There’s no way this tour would have sold so many tickets if the people knew they weren’t getting a proper Slipknot show.
review
Dichro - Stained Glass
August 4, 2024
If I heard this voice in a forest, I would follow it without question and something horrible somewhere would kill me.

July 28, 2024
Her body is an absolute 10 but her face resembles Willem DaFoe pressed against the glass in a hot Greek bathhouse.
