The Spirit - Songs Against Humanity
October 28, 2024
“
Songs Against Humanity
” takes THE SPIRIT to the next level and their next logical steps in the discography. I don’t see any reason why fans of the band would not enjoy this album but it’s accessible enough to grab plenty of new fans too.

Servant – Death Devil Magick
October 4, 2024
This was a fantastic, multi-dimensional album that utilized many of the traditional elements of the genre along with incorporating a fresh, modern edge to Black Metal. As I mentioned above, besides their strong musicianship, the best thing that the band does on the album is controlling the nuclear bomb that is about to explode in their hands and setting its course to their will.

Groza – Nadir
September 5, 2024
The album is a visceral journey through deep, unrelenting aggression that feels like a force of nature. The music is intense and punishing, with heavy riffs and thunderous percussion that create an almost suffocating atmosphere. Just when it feels like the weight of the world might be too much to bear, a sudden shift occurs, and the subtle melodies are not just moments of respite; they are perfectly placed to heighten the drama, amplifying a sense of impending doom. There’s a feeling of chaos that runs through the album, a sense that the world is on the brink of collapse, teetering on the edge of a cataclysm. But within this chaos, there’s a strange, almost beautiful order—a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is a fragile balance between destruction and creation.

Firtan – Ethos
August 27, 2024
This album is a visceral journey into the depths of despair, an exploration that resonates with cavernous soundscapes and primal aggression. The tortured screams that echo throughout feel like cries from the abyss, each one pulling you deeper into the dark undercurrents of the music. The songwriting is intricate, weaving deep webs of melody and dissonance. This is an album that doesn’t just play—it engulfs, overwhelms, and leaves you feeling as though you’ve experienced something raw and profoundly unsettling.

Tomorrow’s Rain – Odvan
May 5, 2024
One thing I have to give the band credit for is the use of bass guitar and other instruments in many of the melodies. Their use of these elements creates a landscape of gloom. The album is a wonderful tale of love lost, regrets, death, and other things that remind you of the fragility of life.
