Fans Of The Dark – Video
November 1, 2024
I don’t mind the “pink and fluffy” at all, and I found the album to be a great revival of a sound that was so important in my youth. It’s hard to create original music in this genre, but FANS OF THE DARK put their own stamp on things and their own personality into the music. It will make you feel good, and make you feel alive.

Stryper - When We Were Kings
October 22, 2024
The thing is, when the music starts you will immediately be able to identify it as STRYPER. The way the riffing is done, the sound of the guitars, the structures of the songs and of course the very distinctive voice of Michael Sweet make sure you know who you’re listening to.

Exodus Rising – The Book of Life
October 22, 2024
16 songs is an ambitious effort indeed, and add a concept into it also, and that becomes twice as ambitious. They are all very strong at their trades, and although some of the songs do get a little repetitive after that long, I admire the band’s confidence. The story, though linear and well crafted, just gets a little hard to listen to after that much time. Call it the short attention span of a reviewer. Overall however, this was an excellent effort, but I would like to hear the band outside of a concept album.

Thirteen Goats – Capricorn Rising
October 10, 2024
THIRTEEN GOATS “Capricorn Rising” is a unique Extreme Metal Rock Opera blending Thrash, Death, Grind, and Heavy Metal as it follows Shepard the goat-skull wearing Antichrist, on a mission to overthrow humanity. Lyrics are dark and intense, with violent imagery and apocalyptic themes. This album displays the band’s impressive technical skills and genre pushing creativity. I would definitely recommend anyone to check this album out, as with its deft blending of so many styles, everyone can find a piece they like about this band.

Grave Heresy - Incineration Victory
October 8, 2024
GRAVE HERESY
is a Swedish death metal outfit that emerged onto the scene in 1996, characterized by rapid-fire rhythms, powerful guitar riffs, and aggressive vocals. Their latest album,
"Incineration Victory,"
showcases their evolution while staying true to their roots, reflecting a relentless energy and commitment to the genre. The album begins with
"Sarmat Dawn,"
featuring a distorted voice announcing impending destruction, setting a surreal tone for the brutality that follows. Tracks like
"Attenuating The Flesh Threshold"
and
"Christ Impermanence"
deliver pure chaos, with relentless speed and aggressive instrumentation that leaves listeners breathless. The guitar work is phenomenal, especially in
"Hexakosioihexekontahexaphilic Conquest,"
where ritualistic elements enhance the furious pace. In contrast, the title track,
"Incineration Victory,"
plunges into deeper emotional territory, creating an atmosphere of profound despair while maintaining the intensity that defines the album.
GRAVE HERESY
has crafted an extraordinary experience with
"Incineration Victory,"
blending brutality with thoughtful exploration, compelling listeners to delve deeper into the flames of their sound.

Veilburner - The Duality of Decapitation and Wisdom
October 7, 2024
“The Duality of Decapitation and Wisdom,” is as fresh and unique as it is alien and wild. The twisted compositions only get better as the album is played more and more. This is a trip down a rabbit hole that I'll happily get lost in.
review
Winterfylleth – The Imperious Horizon
October 6, 2024
The mix of instruments on the album was nearly perfect, pairing guitars with keyboards and others. There was a familiar sound here, but also one that forced you out of your comfort zone a bit. More of the latter would have been welcomed, but it is still and excellent album done at the hands of experienced musicians.

Oceans of Slumber – Where Gods Fear to Speak
September 13, 2024
What makes this band so interesting in my opinion is the complexity of their songwriting. They blend several genres together that, on face value, are difficult to synergize. At times, they border on the pretentious side, but what Progressive Metal band doesn’t? The boldest actions are the transitions, which can be startling, even unpleasant. That quality that they have captured seems to be the exact core of the new album.

Burnt Offering – Frightmare (Demo 1985)
September 9, 2024
After a few listens i'm starting to wonder why no one picked up and signed BURNT OFFERING. In comparison with some of the releases halfway through the eighties they would have easily come through on top. Not only that, but my ears and brains are telling me that the music on “Frightmare (Demo 1985)” also has stood the test of time.
