Heartageddon
Wake The Nations
There were some really nice cuts here, but there were more inconsistent ones, and even too many filler songs. 13 is a lot, and it’s hard to create that many and keep them all memorable. Many of the songs were also just too thin, and although the production was clear, they could have been beefed up more.

Death Devil Magick
Servant
This was a fantastic, multi-dimensional album that utilized many of the traditional elements of the genre along with incorporating a fresh, modern edge to Black Metal. As I mentioned above, besides their strong musicianship, the best thing that the band does on the album is controlling the nuclear bomb that is about to explode in their hands and setting its course to their will.
A Frame of Mind
Kalandra
This was quite a moving listening experience. The album ebbed and flowed, a match with the themes mentioned in the beginning, and it gave me peace even though some of the themes were disruptive. My frame of mind on the album was one of deep contemplation.
No Serpents, No Saviors
Orme
The album resonate with a deep, brooding energy, gradually intensifying as if ancient forces are coming to life. Riffs build like tectonic shifts, heavy and deliberate, while the percussion thunders in the background, echoing the footsteps of something massive and unstoppable rising from the depths. As the album progresses, the intensity grows, reaching crescendos that feel like the giant shaking off centuries of silence. It’s a sound both majestic and ominous, one that lingers, leaving listeners in awe of the sheer scope and magnitude of this sonic journey. It’s the sound of something colossal stirring back to life, a testament to forces that are timeless and primal.
Solus (Igne Natura Renovator Integra)
Hammerfilosofi
This album was promising at times, and puzzling at others. There were some good songs, and some inconsistent ones a well. It just failed to leave an indelible mark on me.
Fonds de Terroir
Hyver
In my experience, many French bands seem to elevate the music in a specific genre. They are usually very creative. However, in the instance of this four track album, besides some energy in the music, is just isn’t very original.
Scavenger
Codespeaker
This album plunges deep into the abyss of despair to a landscape where light and hope have long since vanished. Every note feels drenched in sorrow. The pacing is deliberate, almost suffocating, as if time itself has been stretched thin. The atmosphere is thick with emotional weight, creating a listening experience that is bleak, visceral, and all-consuming. This isn’t just music—it’s an emotional journey through the darkest corners of the soul, where every shred of optimism has been extinguished. It’s a soundtrack for those moments when the world feels unbearably heavy, a reflection of the internal chaos that comes with hopelessness.
Turn of the Tide
Infern
INFERN
'S "
Turn of the Tide
" is a intense groove fest that will provide many hours of nonstop headbanging because it’s well worth visiting over and over. As far as death metal goes, this one has already fought its way near to the top of the putrid pile for me as we approach the end of the year.

Moggs Motel
Moggs Motel
“Moggs Motel” is a very pleasant record to listen to. The songs are simple, straight forward, but also with enough body and variety to keep your mind active.
On Fowl of Tyrant Wing
Bütcher
BÜTCHER is on its second life. The first one was from 2002 until 2007, and only produced two demos. This time their existence started in 2017, and has brought us as Metal afficionados a lot more physical music. Metal with is mostly Speed orientated, with large additions of Black Metal and a little bit less Thrash Metal parts.

Children of the Morgue
Deceased
“Children of the Morgue” is a testament to DECEASED’S enduring legacy in the Extreme Metal world. This album is sure to please both longtime fans and newcomers alike. It is no wonder this band is such an icon to the Virginia Metal Scene. Who can’t love a band who supports newcomers so strongly? This is a flawless and fantastic album that I recommend to all.
Doors of the Dead
Antipope
This was a good album that paid homage at times to the mighty IRON MAIDEN, and if there is ever a band to pattern yourself after, that it is. ANTIPOPE also worked in their own sounds, and refused to be pigeon-holed into one genre.

An End to Everything
Entheos
The album has very personal themes that reflect the shock in losing someone that you care deeply about, yet in some ways, you could already see the ending all painted out for you. But it doesn’t make the sting any less painful. You could clearly hear that pain reflected in the music. It is angry and raging, but very well controlled, and although it offered a variety of influences, the central theme was torture for me…the torture that comes with loss.
Broke & Ugly
Turbo
Turbo are fast, they're crass, and they're here to kick your ass.
Kinship
Iotunn
This album strikes an intricate balance between aggression and melody, offering an experience that feels both forceful and refined. The band pours an immense amount of melody into their hardened structures, creating a dynamic soundscape that’s as brutal as it is beautiful. What’s remarkable about this album is its ability to remain cohesive despite its sprawling ambition. They push the boundaries of the genre with complex time signatures, layered compositions, and melodies that rise like ethereal waves above the crushing weight of the music. For fans of extreme metal looking for something that transcends the typical formula, this is an album not to be missed.
Toba
Mayhemic
In
"Toba," MAYHEMIC
have crafted something exceptional—a brutal yet introspective journey through the darkest corners of human existence, ancient cataclysms, and the merciless forces of nature. From the visceral brutality of
"Kollarbone Crushed Neanderthal"
to the masterpiece of intensity in
"Triumph Portrait"
, this album is a testament to the band’s ability to evolve while staying true to their unrelenting sound. Each track is a glimpse into a world torn apart by violence and cosmic forces, making a monumental achievement in the realm of blackened thrash metal.
Solve et Coagula
Vexing Hex
VEXING HEX’s "Solve et Coagula"
is a compelling musical and visual experience that takes the listener on a journey through occult rituals, cosmic wonder, and gothic horror. The first tracks alone demonstrate the band's versatility and ability to tell captivating, otherworldly stories through both sound and imagery.
Infinite Evolution
Blood Feast
“Infinite Evolution” is fast, aggressive, and evil. The new album shows why BLOOD FEAST is still around after almost 40 years, and Thrash Metal fans will be delighted about their release
