'Til The Enemies Are Gone
Decimator
Thrash and groove metal heads DECIMATOR came upon discovery in January 2021 as they were […]
Bozoo
Bozoo

Dauþalaikaz
Urfeind
This was an excellent album. Although some of the riffs weren’t necessarily ones you haven’t heard before, the band plays them with a passionate fire and energy, and you can connect some of the song titles with imagery. Well done lads. Well done.
Tale of a Wandering Soul
Asterise
All in all, ASTERISE’s “
Tale of a Wandering Soul
,” isn’t going to win any words for its mind blowing originality but it does what any power album should do: provide a solid, no frills experience of melodic but heavy and imaganitive music.
Age of Manipulation
Fractured Insanity
All in all,
FRACTURED INSANITY
’s “
Age of Manipulation
,” does its due diligence as far as death metal goes but it just didn’t excite me in any way or stand out to me.
TMG II
Tak Matsumoto Group
The supergroup is back.
Long Live the Rot
Rotpit
Born in the sewers of the underworld, this album is surely an ode to the rot.
Black Marrow
Slaughtersun
Welcome to the world of dissonance, where violins meet double bass drums, and prog meets extreme metal.
Sleepless Empire
Lacuna Coil
Commemorating the day of love, LACUNA COIL releases their 11th full-length studio album, Sleepless Empire, on February 14, 2025. It’s filled with anger and rage and is all about fucked up relationships and alienation.
EvAAvE
Di’Aul
Album by album you can see DI’AUL evolving and growing. EvAAvE is a definite inflection point.
I Am Your Bane
Boreal Grave
This was a solid album, in a genre that has tight boundaries. The band managed to keep the sound within the boundaries but at the same time, took a few chances every now and then to keep the listener on their toes.
Phisenomie
Marrowomb
The album has a very heavy and deep bottom end, and the production matches it. The combination of two distinct extreme Metal styles is very well done, as they meld together like meat and broth in a stew, and what you get is a thick, bitter, but well-seasoned bowl of madness.
Tales Of War And Magic
Ringlorn
New Epic Metal from Greece.
Beneath the Surface
Weapon of Pride
This mix between Groove Metal with Stoner Metal/Rock influences is a very good idea. Hear it!
We Are Tzadok
Tzadok
Wow, these maxicans maniacs' music is truly amazing!!!
Sullest
Sullest
Maybe this North American Punk Rock quartet is opnening new ways into the genre. Listen to their music!
Hail Of Bullets (Reissue)
Hail Of Bullets
A fine reissue of this Dutch Death Metal classic.
Neu Asen Land
Begthron
If tensorial analysis could be transleate into music, this trio is near to do so.
Odius Imprecation
Aedes
A very good first coming of this promising Finnish Death Metal quintet.
The River Above
Druparia
Although some of the riffs were overly familiar, they made up for that with their excellent musicianship. However, the album didn’t further the sound already established by so many bands that came before them, and it didn’t have enough of their own personality. They have all the right ingredients to be an outstanding band, if they just take a few more chances.
Roll The Dice

This is Not Lifelover
Ritualmord
For me, the album cover tells a lot about what kind of music might be waiting for the listener. It’s a picture of a (presumably) dead woman, covered in blood, amidst a soft canopy of grass, and flowers. Maybe it symbolizes the circle of life, because our dead bodies can create rich soil for flowers to grow. Or, maybe, it symbolizes the yin and yang of good and evil, as each requires the other. In the end, it’s something that each of us might interpret differently, and that is the beauty of music.
Cult of the Serpent Son
Nite
If this album proves anything, it’s that you don’t need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to a memorable listening experience. You do need to choose the right riffs, and the right amount of energy, and the right vocalist, and they have clearly done all three. It’s a simple album, but so damn catchy.
A Tale Beyond The Pale
Warfarer
When I start listening to WARFARER it is no surprise that they are from Finland. Tampere to be precise. The reason it is not a surprise is because the first band that comes to mind when “A Tale Beyond The Pale” starts blowing through my headphones is early CHILDREN OF BODOM. This has the same kind of feel.
Zweckpessimismus
Schädlich & Söhne
What I always have found, and which is definitely accentuated and confirmed on “Zweckpessimismus” is that the German language surely is the best one to select when you wish to get across your messages across in a very dark and menacing way.
Carnival of Chaos
Reviver
In over 48 minutes these guys take you on a journey through a pure Metal landscape. These are good musicians, who write good songs, play good music and have a competent and versatile singer in Michel Zandbergen. All these elements together make “Carnival of Chaos” into an album that will bring joy to many a pure Heavy Metal afficionado.
Operation Party Destroy
Nuclearsaurus Rex
If you are wondering how it is that these musicians work so well together, I have to tell you that this is a one-man band. I don’t know what kind of name or person Chalky is, but I like his sense of humour.
Blaze Of Rage
Magic Kingdom
Let me start by saying that Epic Symphonic Power Metal can not function without a good sound. Well, that part is covered nicely, as the production is top notch. Mr. Dushan Petrocci can be proud of what he has achieved on this MAGIC KINGDOM record.
Do I Need A Reason
Kronowski
KRONOWSKI themselves describe their music as Heavy Metal, but I have a feeling that based on this EP they really don’t know how to market themselves. That probably also is a problem for record companies, as this has been self-released.
Rags to Rage
Hellfire 76
HELLFIRE 76 hail from Charlotte in South Carolina, USA. Their musical style is best described as Southern Metal. And it fits. This has all the trademarks that Southern Rock has, only with Metal as the base.
Beyond The Breakers
Diamonds Hadder
DIAMONDS HADDER are very much influenced by DIO-era RAINBOW, by the DIO-era BLACK SABBATH and the first few DIO albums. Do you see a pattern emerging here?
Nethermost & Absolute Comfort
Déhà
This was indeed a sick album, sick with the blackness of a terminal disease. The length of the songs drew a parallel to someone’s pathetic life, when in the end, they loved no one, and accomplished nothing. I think many of us can relate to that hole.
Andromeda
March of Scylla
From Bandcamp, “MARCH OF SCYLLA is a dark Post-Metal project that explores all the afflictions […]
BLY
Knogjärn
My only piece of constructive criticism relates to the lengthy number of songs on the album, and because much the album has a similar sound, some of the tracks blend together a bit. But this was an honest, hard-rocking album that takes no prisoner. You all get the gallows!
The Egregious Being
Vokodlok
This was an enjoyable amalgam of Death, Black, and Thrash Metal that has a nice balance between the three. The band is talented, and has a no-nonsense approach to their songwriting, letting it all hang out for the listener. This music is as black as Satan’s very soul.
