Echoes
Noumenia
Although they rely a bit too much on the open E chord as the base of a lot of songs, the haunting electronic elements are a nice addition, and their musicianship is fantastic. There are modern elements to their sound (not Nu Metal per se), as well as Progressive elements, and they do a nice job of intermixing genres together in a final product that is blended well.
Ripping Through Time
Distant Dominion
DISTANT DOMINION’s
2024 album
Ripping Through Time
is a formidable journey through the realms of Black Thrash Metal, marked by its unyielding aggression, intricate craftsmanship, and a refined sense of epic narrative. The record unfolds over five meticulously constructed tracks, each one a proof of the band’s commitment to musical precision and emotional intensity.
Heritage
Structure
This was an excellent album from start to finish, and many of the themes of family and loss I can relate to, and I believe you will to. The heavy funeral Doom aspect of the album is almost too much to bear, but it being so, it will test your resolve. Take a journey into the eyes and mind of Bram, and you won’t be disappointed.
Synapse The Hivemind
Sonus Mortis
Both the subject matter and the matching music brings up existential ponderings for me. As a species, why can’t we see our impending demise? Is it because of the very slow process of climate change? Is it because no one has asked why when it comes to technological advances? Is it because of the phenomenon called “learned helplessness.” In my opinion, it is all three forces bearing down on us at the same time, and most of us are too busy to even notice. The punishing music carries the burden of the impending demise on its shoulders throughout the album, and the message is received loud and clear.
Roll The Dice
Blended Brew
Not that kind of Rock.
Krypntonomicon
Kryptograf
Overall, although the band isn’t forging any new paths forward, the music is genuine, honest, and well performed.

This quartet really created a very good Ep. Time to think on a full-length, guys.
The Rider
Smoke Mountain
This was an excellent Doom album. The riffs are towering, massive, and powerful, the vocals are solemn, sultry, and foreboding, and the drum and bass sections provide a commanding footprint that they band stands on confidentially.
Goldstar
Imperial Triumphant
Some Black Metal albums aim for raw aggression, while others lean into cold atmospheres. This one thrives in the space between—a meticulously crafted storm of dissonance and depth. Beneath the blast beats and tortured screams, there is a profound sadness, a suffocating despair that lingers in the background like an ever-present shadow. The melodies, when they emerge from the maelstrom, are haunting—not as relief, but as an accentuation of the darkness. It’s a a journey through the depths of controlled chaos, where the void is vast but never aimless.
Still Scum
Whiskey Ritual
This type of free-flowing, Fuck You attitude is what is largely missing in the music scene today, and reminds me of the great political and religious non-conformists DEAD KENNEDYS did back in the day. They pull no punches, and hold nothing back. Although the album is simple from a composer’s standpoint, music doesn’t have to be overly complicated for you to enjoy it.
Consciousness
Dimman
Melodic Death Metal is a genre that many Metalheads are overly familiar with. In my experience, some bands take the road more travelled by excluding things like clean vocals and keyboards to keep it pure. But such an approach makes the album privy to their peer group, who have done the same. That is the case here. It’s not a good album, and they have talent, I would just stretch out some more.

The Greatest Divide
Marble Ghosts
So we have a death metal drummer, an old-school metal bassist, a singer heavily influenced by 90s grunge, and a metalcore guitar player. In all walks of life and all matter of genres, they are able to create a homogenous sound while mixing everything and anything from their previous influences as musicians and music fans. An intense album you can listen to over and over and still find cathartic release of angst, anger and outreach. This is a solid brand of high-octane alternative rock mixed with an old school metal vibe.
The Legend of the Oakensource
Hans and Valter
What makes this album good is the whole atmosphere created by the theme and lyrics as well as the keyboards and happy-sounding guitars. The lyrics focus on the warriors' quest, something I find quite interesting. The use of narration is nothing groundbreaking but really adds to the music and helps you create an image of the very story in your mind.
Requiem
Ominous Ruin
The frigid and sterile nature of the music leaves many emotions off the table, and allows the ones they do use to blast through with the force of a hurricane. As I mentioned, their musicianship is off the charts, and their technical prowess is hard to match. If you want a straight up intense, brutal, and punishing listening experience, and one that leaves you disoriented and delirious, look no further.

Ghosted
Trick or Treat
I am not going to single out nor point out any specific song but I feel they are really embracing for the very first time wholefully their namesake. They have a name that involves Halloween and spooky themes and they went all out on this one even though we had some glimpses of the last release before this one though. I think they have found their voice, their calling.

"Modern"Metal from Greece.
Revenge Is My Name
Avenger Of Blood
Revenge Is My Name” contains all elements, that makes Thrash Metal so popular like pace, aggression, tight guitar riffing, and melodic guitar solos
Biographyte
Cytotoxin
“Biographyte” is a brutal delivery of high-quality Death Metal, driven by punishing guitar riffing, blast-beat thunderstorms, and technical lead guitar contributions
Visions Of Stagnant Blood
Celestial Sanctuary
“Visions Of Stagnant Blood” offers tracks ranging from a relentless aggressive pummeling towards a grim and doom-laden melodic approach with some melancholic traces
Herbacea
Maison Dieu
Count me as a sucker for Italian female vocals and Stoner Psych trios. "Herbecae" is a stunning debut. Can’t wait to see what’s next from MAISON DIEU.
Heat Lightning
Sanhedrin
With “Heat Lightning,” SANHEDRIN once again takes up the banner of traditional metal and fights the good fight.
Hamelin
King Garcia
Let’s start with the positive, and that is both the strong musicianship of the band as well as their varied song structures. Without vocals, it can be difficult to get across a sense of cohesion and understanding from the music, but they do. That being said, some of the sounds were just a bit too far out of the box for me in terms of what I think of when I think of Metal music.
