And these Death Metal veterans are still teaching very good lessons.
The Moral Chokehold
Death Rattle
Groove Metal as it must be can be heard on this excellent release.
Schauder
Dagdrøm
Wow, what great Black Metal release from thie beginner!
Nocturne
Bell Of Mimir
A good Doom Metal act that must improve its efforts on the recordings. But a good band.
Laio
Balmog
And even after all these years, these veterans on Black Metal are still doing great!
Primacy Arrival
Axiom Chaos
O good first coming from a promising new Brutal Death Metal act.
White Widdow (Reissue)
White Widdow
As for “White Widdow” (2010), I can tell you that it sounds rather good from start to finish. The musicians in the band are very capable, know where to play but also when to either tone it down or even keep quiet.
Serenade (Reissue)
White Widdow
Only a year after the release of the WHITE WIDDOW debut album “White Widdow” in 2010, they were back with their sophomore album “Serenade”. Like the debut (and their other albums) it was originally released through AOR Heaven. Now, some 14 years later, Pride & Joy Music Classixx has taken the time to re-release the first three, and added a bonus track on each one.
Crossfire (Reissue)
White Widdow
Four years after their debut album “White Widdow” (2010), and three years sophomore album “Serenade” (2011), WHITE WIDDOW came back again by releasing another studio album, this time named “Crossfire” (2014). And after those first two albums the band needed to pull out all the stops to make sure they improved what was already there.
Cryptic Aura
Azure Emote
“Cryptic Aura” is a smart blend of several Death Metal genres including technical, progressive, and symphonic Death Metal
The Constant Void
Philosophobia
This was a well-composed album that I found as close to as advertised as possible. The band’s musicianship is probably their strongest feature, followed closely by their sense of grandiose (at times) songwriting. One of the better surprises on the album are the gentler songs, that just feature one main melody. Simplicity can indeed be elegant. The album combines the best of what Progressive music has to offer its fans, and I found the listening experience to be excellent.
Das Lied Der Steinernen Engel
Mystopera
An epic adventure of the Pagan Viking sort with a sea voyage, lots of fighting and maybe a funeral, then more sea voyaging and even more fighting follow by something about honor and death and then maybe some furious vengeance and some sort of heroic ending.
Through the Endless
Eternal Dissonance
If you need a distraction from the world by, say, contemplating the bleak sameness of the never-ending void, “Through the Endless” might do you some good.
Rituals Of Rage
Degenerate
As for the songs on “Rituals Of Rage”, they are all within the range that is between good to outstanding. None of them are anything less that good, but also none of them outshine the others by being more than outstanding. To me that shows that DEGENERATE has consistency in their song writing and playing.
Defiance
Nightbearer
There is no mistaking the fact that NIGHTBEARER has decided to add Metalcore influences into their Death Metal, creating their own brand of Deathcore. And although I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of this musical genre., I am thoroughly enjoying “Defiance” as an album.
Kill The King
Prisoner
The musical genre of this PRISONER album I am listening to is Heavy Metal. Some will call it NWOTHM, but I feel that I need to add NWOBHM in order to complete the description.
Blood Quantum Blues
Turian
What the hell am I listening to right now? Yes, I know it is a band called TURIAN, a Seattle band that makes Metal Hardcore mixed with Noise Rock. I also know that “Blood Quantum Blues” is their fourth release, and according to their Bandcamp site the first one where they really feel free.
Hypostasis
Sunniva
This was a wonderfully hopeless album that wallowed in despair, despondence, and even depression. Their combination of Sludge, Death, Doom, and even Post Metal resulted in a landscape of a frozen tundra where no light can get in. For me, it’s like being put into a hole in the ground and you captor piling dirt on top so that there will never be a means of escape. You are left with just your thoughts, for all eternity.
The Story Remains
Fairyland
A legacy not forgotten, the path continues for Fairyland, this album celebrates the career and life of their founder yet the story of the band is still unwritten and the story remains.
The Great Apocalypse
Insania
This is a prime example that a great Power Metal album transcends the years and the history of the genre, it's great no matter if it was in the genesis of the genre or even the darkest days.
Silent Echoes
Gruesome
GRUESOME deliver a masterclass in progressive and technical Death Metal. “Silent Echoes” is flesh-ripping and aggressive Death Metal at insane pace, smartly combined with melodic and progressive elements at slower pace
Duolithe
Erebe
When I imagine the future of Metal, sure, the classical styles will always be there. But this sound is what will occupy the fringes. It’s a kaleidoscopic journey through sound, where boundaries dissolve and styles bleed into one another with both chaos and purpose. “Doulithe” is an album for those who crave surprise, who find joy in dissonance and beauty in contradiction. It is a triumph of experimentation—a record that doesn’t ask for your understanding, only your surrender.

A Winter’s Horrorscape
Tine
For the band’s style, winter is as good a subject to base an album around as anything else. It’s cold…dark…depressing at times, and brutal at others, just like the music. I enjoyed the album, as I believe any extreme Metal fan will.
Connections to the Eternal Erebus
Akouphenom
This was an album with a lot to offer the listener. The first two songs were very dark amalgams of Black and Death Metal, with deep elements of Doom, but the final two songs took on a whole different meaning. I was captivated by the album as whole, and found that there are many secrets buried within. Come try to unearth them with a listen of “Connections to the Eternal Erebus.”
Hellfire
Circus Of Rock
If you are interested in listening to “Hellfire”, please give it time to reach your brain and after a while, your heart. If you are a Melodic Rock lover, you can’t and won’t go wrong with this album, as it houses everything that you are wishing for in a Melodic Rock album.
A Void Within Existence
Abigail Williams
Black metal has always lived in extremes—fury unleashed through blast beats, scorched earth tremolo picking, and vocals that sound like they were torn from the void. But, the finest albums in the genre do more than burn; they carve. This latest release is no exception. It’s a study in strength through precision, aggression shaped by intent, and rage that carries a refined edge. This record stands out by finding a balance within the chaos. It’s aggressive without being mindless, intricate without being pretentious, and melodic without ever compromising its bleak core. This is black metal with teeth—but also with a mind. A storm, but one that knows exactly where it’s going.

Through Veils of Time
Mjolne
Although I was expecting a FWOBM sound, I was pleasantly surprised by the modern sound while still keeping one of their feet planted in 90’s Norwegian Black Metal. The album was excellently composed, and it’s beyond amazing to consider that all of this was done by one person. All Black Metal fans will enjoy this, and Mjolne will also win over some new ones, like me.
