Woodhawk - Violent Nature album cover

WOODHAWK are a band from Calgary, Canada, who bring us the new album "Violent Nature". This Albertan quartet started the band together in 2013. Their newest record was released on November 1st, 2019. The album brings us fresh new material from the quartet as the 9-track album plays on your stereo. The band have previously played support act to bands such as AIRBOURNE and THE SHRINE. As they grow in popularity, we hear the bands new album "Violent Nature" come to airplay. With a Heavy Metal sound and fast paced guitars and drums not to mention powerful vocals this is an album not to be missed. Although the band have no record label as yet, their self-released album has the ability to go places. WOODHAWK are guys who know what the fans want, and they know how to please the fans.

Of the 9 songs on the album, there are several worth noting. Such songs to listen out for include "Weightless Light", which is 3 minutes 38 seconds long and full of fire. The guitar riffs are phenomenal. Being a well-balanced album, other songs to listen out for include "Dry Blood" - with it's roaring vocals and top-shelf guitar playing and drums coming through in even amounts to make this a song which reaches deep in the listeners soul. At 4 minutes and 46 seconds in, "Old Silence" is another track to swing your hair to which brings together the unique sounds of this awesome band. Not forgetting the title track "Violent Nature" which has a healthy intro of hard hitting drums and guitars before opening to the strong vocals of Turner Midzain. The album is one which should be played at a high volume and worth thrashing your head banging skills to. Definitely an album worth testing out if you are new to the band's sound, and are looking to see what their sound is as this album represents the band well.

In my opinion, the album "Violent Nature" brings us nine fresh new tracks from the Canadian quartet, who have far to go in their career. The fan base will continue to grow, as the 4-piece bring us more Hard Rock sounds. With a variety of styles from Hard Rock to Heavy Metal, the album is a fine example of what the Canadians are capable of producing for the fans. In the future we will hear more from the guys, as they write and produce more new material. For now, I would recommend the new album "Violent Nature" quite highly as a fine work of musical art worthy of listening to. I didn't find any tracks I did not enjoy, and will certainly be listening to the album again!
