Weedpecker - IV: The Stream Of Forgotten Thoughts album cover

Hailing from Warsaw, Poland, WEEDPECKER return with their 4th Studio album "Weedpecker IV: The Stream Of Forgotten Thoughts." The stoner metal foursome were formed in 2012 by brothers, Piotr and Bartek Dobry, along with original members Robert Kulakowski and Jeso Ansolo. They released their first album in 2013; self titled WEEDPECKER Second album 'II' followed in 2015. Third album titled 'III' Fast forward to 2021, to their new album. Released on 3rd December 2021. Returning as a more experienced band with an ever evolving sound, releasing a banger of an album.

A pulsing, metal edged track 1. With distant dreamy harmonized vocals, "No Heartbeat Collective" feels like a true stoner dreamscape; guided by harmonizing guitars, bulky riffs along with the heartbeat of the drums. A great start to the album, each track out doing the next. A relaxed guitar melody, almost mellow, a trippy echoing begins this instrumental track 4, "The Trip Treatment." What a trip it is too. Relaxing guitar melodies and harmonies, it's very easy to listen to. Getting lost within the layers of this awesome track. Leading straight on to mind blowing track 5.

A big favourite of mine, "Big Brain Monsters" has a heavier 70s rock sound, with hints of Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix, as well as Woodstock-esque vibes. All of this packaged in one awesome track. Great harmonies on vocals, dreamy and eerily distant. The Guitar playing is on point, with long heavy riffs. Sit and chill out, let the music envelope you, projecting you into your high world of psychedelic daydreams, on the other hand it's perfect to rock out to also. A firm favourite, this is the track of the album. Symbiotic Nova, what a rocking track to end the album with, leaving me shouting for more! The subtle vocals and melodic echos. Floating vibes transport me to a water world of bold colourful swirls. Surrounded by great guitar melodies, complimented by drums. You feel this music deep within.

"Weedpecker IV:The Stream Of Forgotten Thoughts" is a refreshingly unique sound. With a 70s Rock stoner vibe, softer gentle jamming with an impressive metal edge. A killer of an album. It truly exceeded my expectations. Absorbing tracks, effortless in delivery with trippy 70s Woodstock vibes. Evident hints of Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and possibly a tamer version of early Impala; make this album a must have. With Melodic, heavy Riffs, Perfectly matched with Vocal Harmonies, and the harmonizing of guitars makes for a very satisfying and mesmerising musical experience, known as Weedpecker.

The four Polish musicians are going places with epic tunes such as "Big Brain Monster" and "Symbiotic Nova" under their belts. WEEDPECKER are a totally underrated Band. Superb.
